NASHVILLE, Tennessee, March 7. DURING the second evening of long course swimming at the USA Swimming Sectional held in Nashville, Rachel Komisarz of Lakeside doubled up with wins in the 200 free and 100 fly.<\/p>\n
The night started off with a pair of veterans having a tango in the women's 200 free. Komisarz overtook Carly Piper of SwimMAC-Carolina, 2:02.33 to 2:02.52, in the event.<\/p>\n
The men's 200 free featured another close finish as SwimMAC-Carolina teammates Doug Van Wie (1:51.14) and Tim Liebhold (1:51.77) went 1-2 in the event.<\/p>\n
SwimMAC-Carolina pocketed the next victory as 17-year-old Heather Holtom won the women's 100 breast in 1:11.66, while teammate Mark Gangloff dominated the men's 100 breast with a time of 1:01.37.<\/p>\n
Komisarz doubled her winnings and stopped the SwimMAC-Carolina streak with a 59.26 in the women's 100 fly, before Jeremy Knowles returned the favor for SwimMAC-Carolina with a triumph in the men's 100 fly in 55.21.<\/p>\n
Kennedy Higdon, 16, of Pilot Aquatics dipped under the 5:00 mark with a winning time of 4:59.57 in the women's 400 IM, while Ben Correll of SwimMAC-Carolina grabbed the men's 400 IM title in 4:31.87.<\/p>\n
In relay action, SwimMAC-Carolina's quartet of Margaret Hoelzer, Lia Reich, Terra Wilson and Amber Leiker won the women's 400 free in 3:55.39, while teammates Van Wie, Liebhold, Caleb Courage and Bennett Clark won the men's 400 free in 3:28.30.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
