Tonight\u2019s men\u2019s 50-free shootout at the 2015 American Energy Elite\u00a0Pro-Am in Edmond, Oklahoma yielded a top-tier matchup after an exciting semifinal.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Josh Schneider <\/strong>topped tonight\u2019s exhilarating duel in the men\u2019s final shootout of the 50-yard free with a 19.03. The veteran touched ahead of <strong>James Feigen <\/strong>who swam a 19.25. <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong>, who did not qualify for the final swim-off, ended up third with his 19.24.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SAT RD 2 Heat 2 Mens SO\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o6xQ5xUcIAU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Watch the rest of the race videos at the top right by clicking RACE VIDEOS!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Madison Kennedy <\/strong>began the 50 free shootouts with an overwhelming 21.68 victory in the women\u2019s final of the 50-yard free. <strong>Natalie Jones <\/strong>trailed Kennedy with a 23.54, edging out third-place finisher <strong>Martina Thomas<\/strong>, who clocked a 23.77.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luciana Thomas<\/strong> won the women\u2019s 200-yard IM in a 2:03.21 in comeback fashion ahead of <strong>Cailey Grunhard.<\/strong> Grunhard held the lead after the breaststroke leg, but fell to second with a 2:04.95. <strong>Taylor Pike<\/strong> rounded out the top three in 2:06.52.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 200-yard IM, <strong>Darian Townsend<\/strong> recorded a 1:44.27 to claim first place. <strong>Paul Le<\/strong> took second in 1:46.72, while <strong>Hayden Harlow<\/strong> was a distant third in 1:52.12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Breeja Larson<\/strong> stormed to a huge victory in the women\u2019s 200-meter breast, taking first with an 11-second cushion ahead of second-place finisher <strong>Hanna Newby<\/strong>. Larson clocked a 2:07.47 to take the event, while Newby finished second in 2:18.46. <strong>Katherine Steward <\/strong>wound up third with a 2:19.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cody Miller<\/strong> also had a dominant performance in the men\u2019s 200-yard breast, winning in 1:49.74. The next closest finisher, <strong>Mike Alexandrov<\/strong>, claimed second with a 1:56.82, while <strong>Hayden Harlow<\/strong> rounded out the top three in 2:06.70.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 100-yard back, <strong>Cailey Grunhard<\/strong> took the crown in a 55.93 after taking the race out in a quick 26.97. <strong>Sarah Allegri<\/strong> followed in second with a 56.49, while <strong>Martina Thomas<\/strong> clocked a 56.99 to get third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miguel Ortiz<\/strong> raked in a win in the men\u2019s 100-yard back with his 45.78 effort. <strong>James Wells<\/strong> took second in 46.92, and <strong>Paul Le<\/strong> claimed third with his 47.20.<\/p>\n<p>Freestyle stud <strong>Lindsay Vrooman <\/strong>gutted out a 4:36.51 to win the women\u2019s 500-yard free in wire-to-wire fashion. Vrooman touched with more than a one-lap advantage over the closest swimmer, <strong>Hayley Pike<\/strong>. Pike posted a 4:56.90, while <strong>Liberty Howell<\/strong> came in third with a 4:59.13.<\/p>\n<p>Distance man <strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong> dominated the men\u2019s 500-yard free with a huge 4:12.98 win. Grothe\u2019s splits stayed under 52 seconds the entire race as he went on to win by nearly 27 seconds. <strong>Jack Little<\/strong> (4:39.06) took second, while <strong>Alan Tran<\/strong> wound up third in 4:51.53.<\/p>\n<p>The Razorback Aquatic Club\u2019s women were victorious in the women\u2019s 400-yard medley relay. <strong>Luciana Thomas<\/strong> (58.66), <strong>Olivia Keith<\/strong> (1:06.99), <strong>Taylor Pike<\/strong> (split failed to register), and <strong>Martina Thomas<\/strong> (split failed to register) combined for a 3:50.95 final time.
