PHOENIX, Arizona, February 29. ON leap day, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its final NCAA Division I Dual Meet Rankings. While the Arizona Wildcats won the men's title, Georgia and Stanford emerged as co-champions for the women.<\/p>\n

The 2007-08 Division I swimming & diving dual meet season has concluded. There have been many fast times and great meets throughout the season and the pollsters have put together all of their thoughts and information and crowned this year's champions. In fact, this season has a bit of a bonus as there are three teams earning titles. The women's CSCAA poll has co-champions in the Georgia Bulldogs and Stanford Cardinal. Each team will be eagerly awaiting the announcement of the NCAA Championship rosters with the hope of knocking off the defending champion, Auburn Tigers, for the Division I title. After the last polls had neither team from the University of Southern California in the rankings, the women's team impressed the pollsters to have the largest jump of the week – all the way to number fifteen.<\/p>\n
The men's dual meet champion for the 2007-08 season is the University of Arizona. The Wildcats spent most of the season in the top five and then had a breakthrough meet against then top ranked Texas last month. That victory vaulted them to the top and they have not looked back since. The rest of the men's poll saw a very minimal amount of movement. The Michigan Wolverines conclude dual meet competition enjoying their highest ranking of the season and share the third spot with the Stanford Cardinal. The only other movement in the final men's poll is the addition of Brigham Young in the twenty-fifth spot.<\/p>\n
This year's poll has been published eight times and the champions have been crowned. Pollsters representing eight conferences along with two at-large voters have the task of ranking the top dual meet teams in the nation bi-weekly throughout the season. Additionally, the group of pollsters is completely different for the men's and women's rankings. This poll should not be confused with the results of the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving championships that will take place in March.<\/i><\/p>\n
