DURHAM, New Hampshire, February 27. THE Granite State, which is the home state of swimming legend Jenny Thompson, split into two divisions for the first time in the state's history.<\/p>\n
Team Scores<\/b>
\nNashua North won the inaugural Division I title on the women's side with 211 points. Dover finished second with 142.5 points while Keene brought up the third-place spot with 128 points.<\/p>\n
The Pinkerton men snuck past Londonderry for the inaugural men's Division I title by a 243-223 score. Bishop Guertin finished third with 202 points.<\/p>\n
Women's Individual Results<\/b>
\nAs evidenced by their dominance in the final team scores, the Nashua North women placed first in all three relay events. Its 200 medley relay contingent of Megan DeWitt, Erica Wuorio, Maureen O'Leary and Monica Vendituoli leaped out to an early lead and held on, winning the event in 1:57.78. Wuorio, Vendituoli, Tessa Brouillard and Abigail DeWitt edged Londonderry in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:48.28 clocking while the 400 freestyle relay (O'Leary, Brouillard, Abigail DeWitt and Megan DeWitt) completed the sweep with a 3:55.12 win.<\/p>\n
Erin Hersey, a Londonderry senior, took two event wins, placing first in the 50 freestyle (25.33) and the 100 butterfly (59.42).<\/p>\n
Katie Aldrich from Manchester Central also struck twice, unearthing wins in the 200 freestyle (2:01.84) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.33).<\/p>\n
Dover's Chelsey Long snagged wins in the 500 freestyle (5:27.64) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.25).<\/p>\n
Men's Individual Results<\/b>
\nPinkerton came away with two relay event wins. The 200 medley relay team of Harrison Hollingsworth, Marc Marois, Kai Chan and Brendan Sheehan combined talents to touch first in 1:45.58. Hunter Hollingsworth, Chan Marois and Harrison Hollingsworth unleashed a first-place time of 3:30.71 upon the 400 freestyle relay competition.<\/p>\n
Spaulding's Eric Ziemetz outperformed the field in the 50 freestyle (23.38) and the 100 butterfly (56.04).<\/p>\n
Corey Birdsall of Londonderry pulled out wins in both longer-distance freestyle events, placing first in the 200 freestyle (1:56.42) as well as in the 500 freestyle (5:17.07).<\/p>\n
Diving Results<\/b>
\nMelissa Doucette of Dover easily earned the gold in the women's diving competition, scoring a 380.90. Jessica Lachance of Exeter placed second (298.95) while Meaghan Cunningham of Keene finished third (286.80) by .10 of a point.<\/p>\n
Max Kapiloff of Keene took the men's diving competition with a 257.85 score. Nashua North's Sebastian Pietravalle picked up a second-place finish with a 195.35 score while Adrien Aries of Nashua North took third (191.75).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
