ATHENS, Greece, February 25. THE USA Men's Senior National Team fell to Montenegro 9-6 in the final game of the Samartzidis Cup in Athens, Greece. The team ends the cup with a record of 0-2-1. Rick Merlo led all scorers in the final game with two tallies while Brandon Brooks was solid in net posting eight saves.<\/p>\n
USA turned in another solid effort in the proverbial power play going 3-6 on man up advantages. Despite not registering a victory in the tournament USA Head Coach Terry Schroeder was pleased with what he saw, "While this trip is a training trip, it was also an important trip to gage where we are with some of the best teams in the word. Serbia, Montenegro and Greece are, and we are right there with them," he said.<\/p>\n
