THE final day of the Japanese Short Course National championships saw six more national records fall at the Tokyo&#39;s Tatsumi International Swimming Center.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most notable came from Reiko Nakamura, who set a global standard yesterday in the 200 back. She continued her stable performance in 100 with a time of 58.08 turning the first 50m at 27.96. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;I was going for under 58 seconds, so this time is not bad but a little unsatisfactory,&quot; Nakamura said. &quot;I never went the first 50 under 28 seconds, so that was good. I will go back to hard training again and will be back in April at the Trials.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Her teammate, Kosuke Kitajima, also won the 200 breast in 2:05.03, which was just out of the Japanese record of 2:04.96. His split was 28.09, 59.41, 1:31.67. <\/p>\n<p>More than his performance, second-place finisher and currently senior at high school, Ryo Tateishi surprised the field with his rapid growth with 2:06.52, which was new high school record in short course. Tateishi is currently the strongest candidate post-Kitajima position in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>In the 100 freestyle and butterfly, two Japanese records fell. Hisayoshi Sato went 48.19 in the 100 freestyle and Ryo Takayasu went 50.55 in the 100 butterfly.
