PORTO, Portugal, January 20. MIRCO Di Tora posted a meet record during the final day of competition at the Povoa de Varzim International held in Porto, Portugal.<\/p>\n
Men's 100 free<\/b>
\nTiago Andre Venancio topped the event with a time of 51.73, while David Miguel Ferro finished second in 52.79 and Paulo Jorge Santos took third in 52.82.<\/p>\n
Women's 200 free<\/b>
\nWendy Lencelloti added the 200 free to her 100 free title with a 2:04.41. Giulia Bolgiani, her teammate, touched second in 2:07.09, while Caterina Brighi placed third in 2:08.91.<\/p>\n
Men's 50 breast<\/b>
\nKevin Swander made it two-for-two in the breaststroke events when he posted a quick time of 28.60, just a bit over half-a-second slower than his personal best in the event. As stated yesterday, Swander is putting together one final run towards the Olympic Trials after taking a break from the sport last fall. Rui Manuel Ribeiro (29.90) and Henrique Pereira Neiva (30.06) completed the top three.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 breast<\/b>
\nIsrael's Yuliya Banach grabbed another breaststroke title, this time with a 1:11.99 in the 100 breast. Ana Mariso Brito (1:14.59) and Ana Pinho Rodrigues (1:14.77) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n
Men's 100 back<\/b>
\nMirco Di Tora notched the best swim of the meet with a meet-record time of 55.71 in the men's 100 back. It surpassed the meet record by nearly a second. Adriano Miguel Niz (57.41) and Cesare Pizzirani (59.00) rounded out the podium.<\/p>\n
Women's 50 back<\/b>
\nAnna Volchkov hit the wall in 31.18 to grab the title, while Caterina Brighi finished second in 31.40 and Sara Alexandra Madeira took third in 31.64.<\/p>\n
Men's 200 fly<\/b>
\nNuno Goncaio Quintaniha touched out Luis Miguel Monteiro, 2:02.76 to 2:02.88, to claim the event title. Diogo Filipe Carvalho completed the top three in 2:04.18.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 fly<\/b>
\nSara Freitas Oliveira snagged the crown with a winning time of 1:01.74, while Sara Alexandra Madeira (1:02.21) and Israel's Kristina Tchernychev (1:03.29) placed second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n
Men's 400 free<\/b>
\nFabio Manuel Pereira won the race in 4:00.63, while Matteo Montanari (4:01.37) and Jorge Manuel Maia (4:03.21) comprised the rest of the medal winners.<\/p>\n

\nFilipa Ferreira da Silva claimed a fairly close swim over Caterina Brighi, 2:23.06 to 2:23.80, while Corinne Gambaiani took third in 2:24.64.<\/p>\n

\nWith Kevin Swander electing not to swim in the 200, the race was wide open as Henrique Pereira Neiva beat Andre Miguel Silva, 2:21.00 to 2:21.87. Ricardo Jose Varela picked up third in 2:22.71.<\/p>\n

\nSandra Kazikova captured the women's splash-and-dash in 26.57, while Sara Alexandra Madeira (27.27) and Claudia Sofia Monteiro (27.47) placed second and third.<\/p>\n

\nTiago Andre Venancio won his second title of the day with a 25.10. Luis Miguel Monteiro took second in 25.64, while Adriano Miguel Niz finished third in 25.67.<\/p>\n
