MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, January 19. THE women's meet featuring Arizona State at Minnesota as part of the SwimmingWorldMagazine.com<\/b> Meet of the Week program, showcased some close battles. The Golden Gophers, however, upended Arizona State, 170-129, to win the dual. Overall, Minnesota claimed nine titles while ASU picked up seven.<\/p>\n
Jillian Tyler and Yuen Kobayashi led Minnesota with a pair of victories. Tyler swept the 100 and 200 breaststroke events as both of her times surpassed the B-cut threshold (100 \u2013 1:02.41; 200 \u2013 2:16.84). Meanwhile, Kobayashi won the 200 free with a B-cut 1:50.28 and took home the 1000 free title in 9:53.25. She also placed second in the 500 free with a B-cut 4:52.11.<\/p>\n
Other strong performances came from Stacy Busack and Jacqueline Schroeder. Busack claimed both the 50 (23.53) and 100 (51.10) free titles, while Schroeder swept the diving events with zone qualifiers (1m \u2013 269.31; 3m \u2013 285.75). Chris Jennings rounded out the title winners for Minnesota with a B-cut 4:51.63 in the 500 free.<\/p>\n
The Sun Devils captured both of the relay crowns. The team of Jen Beckberger, Sara McDaniel, Caitlin Andrew and Jess Perazzo started the meet with a win in the 200 medley (1:42.56), while Andrew, Beckberger, Lindsey Brown and Perazzo touched first in the 200 free (B-cut; 1:33.27). Andrew also clocked B cuts with wins in the 100 back (54.75) and 200 back (2:00.83) to finish with four titles.<\/p>\n
Ashton Aubry swept the 100 fly (55.35) and 200 fly (2:01.19) with a pair of B-cut times, while Ashley Evans touched in a B-cut 2:00.96 to win the 200 IM.<\/p>\n
