THE Colgate women&#39;s swimming and diving team won eight individual events and both relays to beat Bucknell, 174-124, Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium. Bucknell came out on top in the men&#39;s meet by a score of 192-96. <\/p>\n<p>The Raiders claimed each of the top three spots in the 100 breast. The effort was led by junior Emily Murphy (Syracuse, N.Y.), who won the event in 1:07.86. Senior Kacy Reams (Evanston, Ill.) was second, touching the wall in 1:08.12, while sophomore Caitlin Curran (Alpharetta, Ga.) was third, finishing in 1:08.86.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Erin McGraw (Penfield, N.Y.) won the 200 free in 1:54.71, and junior Lisa Marchi (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was right behind her in second, posting a time of 1:56.85.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Caren Guyett (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) won the 1000 free in a time of 10:38.56. Classmate Emily Kelly (Potomac, Md.) came in third in the event in 10:51.01. Guyett also won the 200 fly, finishing in 2:10.36, and Kelly was third once again with a time of 2:12.01.<\/p>\n<p>Colgate opened the meet by edging the Bison in the 200 medley relay with a winning time of 1:49.71, the team&#39;s second-best time of the season. At the end of the meet, the Raiders took the top two spots in the 200 free relay with times of 1:39.04 and 1:42.33, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Beverly Walker (Marietta, Ga.) came in second in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.60, just behind Bucknell&#39;s Courtney Warren, who won in 1:00.19.<\/p>\n<p>The Raiders claimed the second, third and fourth spots in the 50 free. Junior Ashley Bottger (Weston, Conn.) was Colgate&#39;s top finisher, posting a time of 25.01. Walker was third, finishing in 25.60, and edging sophomore teammate Kim Siembieda (Narberth, Pa.), who was 0.07 seconds behind her.<\/p>\n<p>Colgate senior Zach Whitman (Pittsford, N.Y.) and freshman Devon Healy (New Canaan, Conn.) both turned in impressive individual efforts for the men. Whitman won both butterfly events, posting a time of 1:56.47 in the 200 and 52.02 in the 100.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Tucker Gniewek (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) came in second in the 100 back with a time of 54.05. <\/p>\n<p>Colgate&#39;s top foursome of freshmen Peter Coulson (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Tyler Coolman (Fort Collins, Colo.), Whitman, and senior Jeff Jakob (Medford, N.J.) finished third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.97. The Raiders had the second-fastest time in the 200 free relay, 1:27.98, and earned first-place points thanks to the efforts of Gniewek, junior George Bennitt (West Chester, Pa.), junior Dan Lathrop (Westerly, R.I.), and Whitman.<\/p>\n<p>The Raiders took third and fourth place in the 50 free. Bennitt was third in a time of 22.55, and Gniewek was 0.01 seconds behind him in fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Trevor Healy (New Canaan, Conn.) was Colgate&#39;s top finisher in the 1000 free, coming in fourth in 10:07.95.
