THE French completed a quick three days of swimming at the French Short Course Championships held in Nimes, France this weekend with a trio of national standards.<\/p>\n<p>Camille Muffat concluded a strong meet with another national standard, this time clocking a 2:08.95 in the women&#39;s 200 IM to surpass Laure Manaudou&#39;s 2006 record of 2:09.20.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Benjamin Stasiulis broke the men&#39;s 50 back national record twice as he clocked a 24.56 in prelims before winning the championship heat in 24.33.  That progression knocked nearly a second off Mathieu Lacome&#39;s 2006 record of 25.13.<\/p>\n<p>Alain Bernard set the last national record of the meet with a time of 46.44 in the men&#39;s 100 free as he cut his own standard of 46.79 set in July.<\/p>\n<p>Three meet records also fell during the final session of swimming.  Malia Metella posted a pair of meet records in the 100 free with a prelim time of 54.07 before completing the day with a 53.51 in finals.<\/p>\n<p>Nicolas Rostoucher added the 400 free meet record to his tally with a 3:44.50, while Fabien Horth set the 200 IM standard with a time of 1:59.04.<\/p>\n<p>Pierre Roger (200 flly \u2013 1:55.06) and Great Britain&#39;s James Gibson (50 breast \u2013 27.53) each won a men&#39;s title, while Alena Popchanka (400 free \u2013 4:00.80), Aurore Mongel (200 fly \u2013 2:07.96), Diane Bui Duyet (50 back \u2013 27.86) and Anne Sophie Le Paranthoen (50 breast \u2013 31.76) won events for the women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NIMES, France, December 9.
