ATHENS, Georgia, December 2. THE Georgia swimming and diving team picked up six additional NCAA automatic qualifying times to highlight the final day of the Georgia Fall Invitational at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Lady Bulldogs won the invitational with 1,180 points. Their closest competitor was Virginia with 906 points. On the men's side, the Bulldogs rolled up 970 points to outdistance Virginia's 776.<\/p>\n
"This was a very competitive meet," Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle said. "There were great swimmers on every team, and there were so many great races."<\/p>\n
Troyden Prinsloo and Sebastien qualified for the NCAAs by going 1-2 in the 1,650-yard freestyle on Sunday. Prinsloo had a time of 14:42.47, followed by Rouault in 14:53.91. Gil Stovall recorded an A cut time of 1:43.24 as he won the 200-yard butterfly.<\/p>\n
"I was really happy with the guys today," Bauerle said. "Gil was terrific today. Troy is a big boost for our team. Seb is good, but it is always nice to have company."<\/p>\n
Kelsey Ditto posted an A cut as she won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:17.43. Colleen Haase won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:12.36, and she recorded an A cut time of 2:12.18 during the preliminaries. Elizabeth Hill won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:59.03 after pulling an A cut time of 1:58.96 in prelims.<\/p>\n
Georgia capped the meet by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Courtney Monsees, Chelsea Nauta, Jessica Cole and Anna Miller posted a time of 3:18.59.<\/p>\n
"Hill's A cut was inspirational for the team and for me," Bauerle said. "She has had so much trouble with shoulder injuries, so getting that A cut today was a lot of pressure off of her."<\/p>\n
