SYRACUSE, New York, November 28. A student-driven rally to Save Syracuse Swimming and Diving will be held on Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. outside of the Carrier Dome prior to a men's basketball home game against Rhode Island at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
The rally, which will be outside the student entrance at Gate E, is meant to educate students about the questionable practices of the Athletics Department in general and to support the recently cut swimming and diving teams. <\/p>\n
To prepare for the rally, nearly 1,000 T shirts will be distributed in the Schine Student Center the previous week. Each shirt will display the "Save the SU Swim Team" logo. <\/p>\n
There will also be thousands of fliers distributed informing students of the rally and why the swim team should not have been cut. Additionally, a Jet Blue airline ticket will be auctioned off at the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
