Two of the brightest stars in swimming took center stage on the final night of racing at the 2015 USA Swimming Winter Nationals as both Michael Phelps<\/strong> (200 fly) and Missy Franklin<\/strong> (200 back) picked up wins.<\/p>\n

In the main event of the evening, NBAC\u2019s Michael Phelps<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 200-meter fly by more than a second at the 2015 USA Swimming Winter Nationals.<\/p>\n

Swimming in the final heat of the evening and meet, Phelps threw down a 1:56.11 to win his third national title of the weekend. \u00a0He already won the 200 IM and 100 fly the first two days.<\/p>\n

Phelps\u2019 time is well off his world-leading 1:52.94 from summer nationals, but was more than enough to win tonight.<\/p>\n

Phelps\u2019 training partner Chase Kalisz<\/strong> put up a 1:57.19 for second that included a 29.99 third 50. \u00a0NAC\u2019s Dakota Hodgson<\/strong> placed third overall in 1:59.09.<\/p>\n

Missouri\u2019s Mack Darragh<\/strong> (1:59.34), Gator\u2019s Sebastien Rousseau<\/strong> (1:59.36), Michigan\u2019s Dylan Bosch<\/strong>(1:59.71), Sega\u2019s Takeshi Matsuda<\/strong> (2:00.00) and Andrew Torres<\/strong> (2:01.70) also swam in the finale.<\/p>\n

California\u2019s Tom Shields<\/strong> pocketed the B final win in 1:59.84. \u00a0Club Wolverine\u2019s Michael Flach<\/strong>(2:00.57) and BlueFish\u2019s Max Miranda<\/strong> (2:01.06) took second and third.<\/p>\n

California\u2019s Adam Hinshaw<\/strong> won the C final in 2:02.09. \u00a0Club Wolverine\u2019s Kyle Whitaker<\/strong> took second in 2:02.22 with Ford\u2019s Steve Sholdra<\/strong> earning third in 2:02.31.<\/p>\n
