The meet consisted of ten women\u2019s teams. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Kaitlyn Swinney <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">had a strong meet for the Rice Owls. The sophomore racked up 91 points. Swinney\u2019s weekend was highlighted by a win in the 400-yard individual medley. She finished with a time of 4:17.38. She also picked up fourth place finishes in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jaecey Parham <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of Rice also scored 91 points over the weekend. Parham, also a sophomore, won the 200-yard individual medley. She finished with a time of 2:02.67. She was also on the Owls\u2019 winning 400-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relay teams. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tulane finished second at the meet. Oddly enough, the Green Wave also had a swimmer, <\/span><b>Mia Shachter, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">finish with 91 points. The senior was victorious in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. She posted a 49.98 in the 100-yard event and a 22.93 in the 50-yard sprint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The University of California, Davis rounded out the top-3. The Mustangs were led by freshman <\/span><b>Mia Facey. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Facey scored 81 points and was a member of the winning 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams. Her highest individual finish was in the 100-yard freestyle. Facey finished second in the event with a time of 50.82. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">University of Houston, the meet host, finished in fourth place. The Cougars were led by <\/span><b>Eleanna Koutsouveli. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The freshman was on Houston\u2019s 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams, both of which finished in second place. She also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.24. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Colorado State rounded out the top-five team finishers. The Rams were led by <\/span><b>Mack Halligan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, who served as a long distance weapon throughout the meet. Halligan finished in seventh place in the 200-yard individual medley and eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oregon State finished in sixth, North Texas was in seventh, New Mexico State was eighth, Idaho was ninth and Northern Colorado finished in 10th. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rice captured the Phill Hansel Invitational title in Houston, Texas.
