The women of 5-Pittsford collected an astonishing 323.5 points to win the meet. It was a battle for second place with the ladies of 1-Pelham grabbing the second-place title with 195 points. 8-Long Beach were a close third with 193.<\/p>\n<p>The 8-Long Beach 200 medley relay got the meet off to a quick start by downing the existing record of 1:46.14 set by Ithaca in 2006. The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Kristen Romano<\/strong> (25.97),\u00a0<strong>Margaret Aroesty<\/strong> (27.86),\u00a0<strong>Morgan Harrington<\/strong> (26.29) and\u00a0<strong>Joan Cash<\/strong> (24.51) posted a combined 1:44.63 for the new record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cara Treble<\/strong> of 8-Massapequa continued the record-breaking streak in the 200 free, turning in a final time of 1:48.01 to lower the NYSPHSAA record of 1:48.30 set by\u00a0<strong>Kina Zhou<\/strong> in 2012.\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Stone<\/strong> of 5-Pittsford also finished under the former record, stopping the clock at 1:48.29 to earn second.<\/p>\n<p>Aroesty challenged the existing NYSPHSAA and NYS Fed. records of 1:58.29 in the 200 IM. The junior shaved nearly six seconds off her prelims time of 2:04.13 to end the race with a 1:58.45.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Smith<\/strong> of 5-Pittsford narrowly missed re-setting her own record during finals of the 50 free. Smith turned in a time of 22.72 during prelims for a new NYSPHSAA and NYS Fed. record. The senior concluded finals with a time of 22.77.<\/p>\n<p>Romano dashed to a quick finish in the 100 fly, stopping the clock at 54.76. The junior&#8217;s final time was only .41 seconds off the current record of 54.35 set in 1990 by <b>Richelle Depold.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Freshman\u00a0<strong>Katherine Douglass<\/strong> of 1-Pelham lit up the pool in the 100 free, turning in a time of 50.32 to challenge the existing record of 50.14.\u00a0<strong>Andrea Ernst<\/strong> of 6-Orchard Park claimed second in the event with a time of 50.52, while Treble took third with a 50.70.<\/p>\n<p>Stone pulled away from the pack early on in the 500 free and never looked back. The junior held 29&#8217;s throughout the majority of the race, posting a final time of 4:48.08. She finished a slim 1.11 seconds off the existing NYSPHSAA and NYS Fed. records of 4:46.97 set in 1995 by\u00a0<strong>Jessica Foschi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after her first place finish, Stone (23.71, 3rd) joined up with\u00a0<strong>Becca Evans<\/strong> (23.74),\u00a0<strong>Emma Corby<\/strong> (23.88), and Smith (22.44) for a new record in the 200 free relay. The foursome posted a final time of 1:33.77 to better their own record of 1:34.22, set earlier in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Romano took gold in the 100 back with a time of 54.28.\u00a0<strong>Emma Hadley<\/strong> of 1-Horace Greeley finished second overall with a time of 55.14, while third went to 11-Ward Melville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Casey Gavigan<\/strong> and her time of 55.73.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Jack<\/strong> of 2-Burnthill-Scotia Glenville was successful in setting a new meet record in the 100 breast during prelims of the event with a time of 1:01.65, but it was to be short-lived. The next day in finals Aroesty shaved a startling 3.87 seconds off her prelims time of 1:03.87 to set a new record of 1:00.00. Jack finished under her former record with a 1:01.48 for second.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies of 5-Pittsford joined together to end the race with one final record in the 400 free relay.
