For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agonswim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The 2015 Louisiana High School State Championships kicked off this week with the Division 3 and 4 schools hosting finals yesterday.<\/p>\n<h3>Division 4 Results:<\/h3>\n<p>Isidore Newman School catapulted to the top of the rankings on both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s sides with the women capturing the win with a total of 367 points, while the men finished with a total of 388. Ascension Episcopal School finished second on the women&#8217;s side with 232 points and Pope John Paul II High School was second on the men&#8217;s side with 175 points. Northlake Christian School finished third for both the men and women (161 and 164 respectively).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Huffman<\/strong>\u00a0of The Dunham School dashed to a new state record in the women&#8217;s 50 free not once, but three times! Huffman first lowered her 2014 record of 24.33 in prelims of the individual 50 turning in a time of 24.10. The next day in finals she posted a time of 24.03, before lowering it once more to a 24.00 as the leading leg of the 200 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Huffman later won the 100 free with a time of 51.55, breaking the Division 4 record of 52.40 set by\u00a0<strong>Erica Dagg<\/strong> in 2006 and was named Female Swimmer of the Meet for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miles Jantzi<\/strong>, also of The Dunham School, won Male Swimmer of the Meet after his success in the men&#8217;s 100 free (49.18) and 100 back (54.58).<\/p>\n<p>Westminster Christian&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jennifer Johnson<\/strong> dashed to a new state record during prelims of the women&#8217;s 100 fly, turning in a time of 58.42. Johnson would win the event the next day with a time of 59.24.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson also grabbed a win in the women&#8217;s 200 IM, finishing a strong nine seconds ahead of the competition with a 2:12.43.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jillian Barczyk<\/strong> of Ascension Episcopal School overturned a 15-year-old record in the women&#8217;s 500 free finishing with a 5:03.19. Barczyk&#8217;s time sits almost a full five seconds ahead of\u00a0<strong>Margaret Beadle&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2000 record of 5:08.04. The freshman also challenged\u00a0<strong>Erica Dagg&#8217;s<\/strong> 2005 record of 1:53.92 in the 200 free, finishing first with a 1:54.15.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Other Winners:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Matthew Stegen,<\/strong> Northlake Christian School&#8211; Men&#8217;s 200 free (1:49.50)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donovan Bendana<\/strong>, Episcopal School of Acadiana&#8211; Men&#8217;s 200 IM (2:06.75)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Austin Briggs<\/strong>, Westminster Christian&#8211; Men&#8217;s 50 free (22.49)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Division 3 Results:<\/h3>\n<p>E.D. White Catholic High took home both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s titles collecting a total of 343 and 292 points respectively. Episcopal High School finished second on the women&#8217;s side with 268 points, while third went to the women of University High Swimming (218). On the men&#8217;s side, it was Saint Louis High School who finished second with 238 points, and Lutcher High School collected 236 points for third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Erin Trahan<\/strong> of La-Notre Dame High School earned Outstanding Female Swimmer of the Meet after posting wins and new state records in both the women&#8217;s 50 free and 100 fly. Trajan lowered her own record of 23.70 from 2014 in the 50 free first down to a 23.28 in prelims, before posting a 23.23 in finals.<\/p>\n<p>Trahan again lowered her own 2014 record in the 100 fly from it&#8217;s previous 55.28 to a 54.40, which she turned in during prelims. She would win the event the next day with a final time of 54.78, still under her former record. Trahan&#8217;s 100 fly record stands as both the Division III and LHSAA record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jay Danos<\/strong> of E.D. White Catholic High collected individual wins in the same events as Trahan. Danos neared the Division III record of 21.51 in the 50 free, finishing with a 21.66. Later, in the 100 fly, Danos turned in a final time of 50.91 to lower the Division III record from its former 51.19 set in 2011 by\u00a0<strong>Clay Furr.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Danos was named the Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Meet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chanler Turnley<\/strong>\u00a0of Episcopal High School turned in a stunning performance, setting three new Division III records during finals. After narrowly missing the DIII record of 52.70 in the women&#8217;s 100 free (an event she won with a time of 52.80), Turnley posted a new state record of 52.58 when she led off the team&#8217;s 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>That same relay would go on to finish in a time of 3:43.82 lowering the 18-year-old record of 3:44.16 set by Parkview Baptist in 1997. Turnley was joined by\u00a0<strong>Mary Oliver<\/strong> (58.94), <b>Dru Powell\u00a0<\/b>(57.53) and\u00a0<strong>Bailey Stevens<\/strong> (54.77).<\/p>\n<p>The junior also grabbed a win and a new DIII record in the women&#8217;s 200 free, finishing in a time of 1:55.25. Turnley&#8217;s time breaks the nineteen-year-old record of 1:57.28 set by\u00a0<strong>Kim Vilyus<\/strong> in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman\u00a0<strong>Jolee Liles<\/strong> of Parkview Baptist School dominated the women&#8217;s 500 free, placing first with a scorching time of 5:01.09. Liles&#8217; time smashed the previous Division III record of 5:14.24 set in 1996 by\u00a0<strong>Rebekah McClain<\/strong>. Liles also finished first in the women&#8217;s 200 IM, nearing the existing DIII and LHSAA record of 2:03.38 with a time of 2:06.93.<\/p>\n<p>The men of E.D. White Catholic High took down two Division III relay records during finals. The 200 medley relay team of\u00a0<strong>Nicolas Rathle<\/strong> (26.33),\u00a0<strong>Hudson Gravois<\/strong> (29.85),\u00a0<strong>Jay Danos<\/strong> (23.20) and\u00a0<strong>Grant DeGravelle\u00a0<\/strong>(22.75) posted a combined 1:42.13 to finish first and claim the DIII record. The former record of 1:42.47 was set in 2012 by St. Charles Catholic.<\/p>\n<p>The men of E.D. White ended the meet with a bang lowering the 21-year-old record of 3:19.93 set by Vanderbilt Catholic in 1994. The all senior relay team of Danos (48.84),\u00a0<strong>Max Cowen<\/strong> (50.73),\u00a0<strong>Andrew\u00a0<\/strong><b>Soignet\u00a0<\/b>(51.18) and Rathle (48.17) posted a combined time of 3:18.92.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Other Winners:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>William Heinen<\/strong>, Saint Louis High School&#8211; Men&#8217;s 200 Free (1:47.83)<\/li>\n<li>Rathle, E.D.
