For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agonswim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Girls Illinois High School State Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off today with some very strong swims.\u00a0<strong>Reilly Lanigan<\/strong> of\u00a0Lake Forest started her senior meet off with a bang, posting top seeds in both of her individual events.\u00a0Lanigan posted a time of 1:48.49. She was followed by <strong>Kristen Jacobsen<\/strong> of Barrington who just out touched <strong>Ella Tierney<\/strong> posting a time of 1:49.37 to Tierney&#8217;s 1:49.40.<\/p>\n<p>Lanigan followed up her strong swim in the 200-yard free posting\u00a0a top seed in the 500-yard free with a time of 4:48.88. She was followed by Jacobsen who touched in 4:50.32, while Tierney was just a hundredth behind in 4:50.33. The three women mimicked their placing exactly from\u00a0the 200-yard free.<\/p>\n<p>The morning featured the Girls 1 meter diving prelims, where Senior <strong>Sydney Dusel<\/strong> of Naperville Central posted the top seed with a point total of 357.45. She was followed by Freshman <strong>Lucy Hogan<\/strong> of Evanston who posted 345.65. Fellow freshman <strong>Jessie Creed<\/strong> of New Trier was third with a point total of 336.90.<\/p>\n<p>In the swimming events, Rosary High School&#8217;s team of <strong>Athena Ye<\/strong> (25.54),\u00a0<strong>Sydney VanOvermeier<\/strong> (29.69),\u00a0<strong>Camryn Streid<\/strong> (24.82) and <strong>Emily Ryan<\/strong> (23.03) with a time of 1:43.08. In second, Loyola Academy&#8217;s team of <strong>Shannon Kearney<\/strong> (25.97),\u00a0<strong>Claire Voss<\/strong> (28.22),\u00a0<strong>Maria Kyle<\/strong> (25.71) and <strong>Cassidy Coughlin<\/strong> (23.62) for a time of 1:43.52. In a close third Oak Park River Forest&#8217;s team of <strong>Hanna Blankemeier<\/strong> (25.76),<strong> Jilly Cronin<\/strong> (28.97),\u00a0<strong>Genevieve Curry<\/strong> (25.99) and <strong>Alexandra Gill<\/strong> (22.92) with a time of 1:43.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexis Yager<\/strong> of Rosary had\u00a0a very solid prelim swim in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:01.34. <strong>Valerie Tarazi<\/strong> of Crystal Lake was second in 2:02.53, and <strong>Ema Rajic<\/strong>\u00a0of Urbana U-High was third in 2:02.77.<\/p>\n<p>The 50-yard free was a fast heat with <strong>Daria Pyshnenko<\/strong> of Lake Forest taking the heat in a 22.52. <strong>Bailey Grinter<\/strong> of Edwardsville was second in 23.09, and <strong>Avery Braunecker<\/strong> of Effingham was third with a 23.11.<\/p>\n<p>The 100-yard fly was a close race between <strong>Carly Kramer<\/strong> of Plainfield Central and <strong>Katie Rentz<\/strong> of Rosary, with Kramer taking the heat in 54.81 over Rentz&#8217;s 54.95. <strong>Camryn Streid<\/strong> of Rosary was third in 55.64.<\/p>\n<p>The 100-yard free featured a fierce battle with <strong>Georgie White<\/strong> of Oswego East and <strong>Avery Braunecker<\/strong> of Effingham tying for the top seed with a time of 50.28. Pyshnenko\u00a0was third in 50.32.<\/p>\n<p>Rosary High followed up their top seed in the 200 medley relay with a strong showing in the 200-yard free relay, with their team of Ye (23.97) <strong>Kathryn Mueller<\/strong> (23.57) Yager (23.69) and Ryan (22.90) combining for a time of 1:34.13. Lake Forest were just half a second off to grab\u00a0second, with the group of <strong>Madeline Smith<\/strong> (23.60) Pyshnenko (22.82) <strong>Olivia Lomax<\/strong> (24.82) and Lanigan (23.29) posting a time of 1:34.53. Loyola Academy was third with the group of<strong> Olivia Andrew<\/strong> (23.79) Coughlin (23.51) <strong>Maria Kyle<\/strong> (24.25) and Tierney (23.40) were third in 1:34.95.<\/p>\n<p>Ye dominated the 100-yard back with a solid time of 54.68. She was followed by <strong>Audrey Guyett<\/strong> of Saint Charles North who was 55.26, while <strong>Emily Ryan<\/strong>\u00a0of Rosary was a close third in 55.62.<\/p>\n<p>Tarazi followed up her swim in the 200-IM, seizing the first seed in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:02.47. Rajic was second in 1:03.09, while Yager was third in 1:03.43.<\/p>\n<p>The last event of the day concluded with an incredible race between Lake Forest and Rosary, with Lake Forest&#8217;s team of Pyshnenko (51.22) Smith (51.04)<strong> Haley Nelson<\/strong> (52.14) and Lanigan (50.35) who out touched Rosary&#8217;s team of <strong>Georgia Young<\/strong> (52.03) Ryan (50.18) <strong>Linda Licari<\/strong> (51.67) and Yager (50.91) with a 3:24.75 to Rosary&#8217;s 3:24.79. Lake Forest&#8217;s time was just off the 2012 state record of 3:24.50, which speaks to an exciting race tomorrow. Loyola Academy&#8217;s team of Kyle (52.94) Andrew (50.83) <strong>Margaret Guanci<\/strong> (51.81) and Tierney (50.60) was third, posting a time of 3:26.18.<\/p>\n<p>The Illinois High School Girls State Championship will conclude with\u00a0finals\u00a0which will take off tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agon is the proud sponsor of all high school coverage (recruiting, results, state championships, etc.) on SwimmingWorld.com.
