WHEN her men&#39;s swimming team edged Le Moyne College on Saturday, it gave Bentley swimming coach Mary Kay Samko the 300th victory of her career.  Samko, in 26 years as a head coach, has a lifetime mark of 300-146.<\/p>\n<p>The 148.5-145.5 victory was not an easy one as the Falcons won only four of 16 events. However, the Falcons used their superior depth, amassing 15 second-place finishes and 12 thirds.<\/p>\n<p>Samko is in her 12th year at Bentley where she has amassed a 206-86 record and led the Falcons to a total of 11 New England Swimming and Diving Association titles. Her Bentley women&#39;s teams are 124-43 with six straight NEISDA championships and Samko&#39;s men&#39;s teams at Bentley are 82-43 with five NEISDA crowns in the last seven years.<\/p>\n<p>Before coming to Bentley, the Arlington resident was head coach of both the men&#39;s and women&#39;s teams at the University of the South (1991-94), and the women&#39;s teams at Tufts University (1976-82) and Southern Connecticut State University (1982-87).<\/p>\n<p>Samko, a member of the Boston College Hall of Fame, was the 1987 New England Coach of the Year and has won five Coach of the Year awards from the NEISDA.<\/p>\n<p><i>Special thanks to Bentley for contributing this report.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WALTHAM, Massachusetts, November 7.
