{"id":160897,"date":"2015-11-13T18:14:33","date_gmt":"2015-11-14T01:14:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=160897"},"modified":"2015-11-13T18:14:33","modified_gmt":"2015-11-14T01:14:33","slug":"katie-ledecky-smokes-pool-record-in-400-free-at-2015-arena-pro-swim-series-minneapolis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-smokes-pool-record-in-400-free-at-2015-arena-pro-swim-series-minneapolis\/","title":{"rendered":"Katie Ledecky Smokes Pool Record in 400 Free at 2015 Arena Pro Swim Series Minneapolis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NCAP&#8217;s <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> dropped more than five seconds off the pool record today in the women&#8217;s 400-meter free at the 2015 Arena Pro Swim Series Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky, who already clocked a scorching 3:59.13 to lead the world this year at Worlds, put up a 4:03.05 during prelims to break <strong>Allison Schmitt&#8217;s<\/strong> pool record of 4:07.78 from 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, Ledecky took it a step more with a strong 4:02.67 for the win. \u00a0That&#8217;s fastest than the second-fastest swimmer of the year, <strong>Sharon van Rouwendaal&#8217;s<\/strong> 4:03.02 from Worlds.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia&#8217;s<strong> Leah Smith<\/strong> put in a nearly season best time of 4:04.67 for second. \u00a0That&#8217;s just off her sixth-ranked 4:04.66 from the World University Games.<\/p>\n<p>NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Becca Mann<\/strong> took third in 4:07.67, while NBAC teammate <strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong> placed fourth in 4:07.99.<\/p>\n<p>Mission Viejo&#8217;s <strong>Stephanie Peacock<\/strong> (4:08.23), Badger&#8217;s <strong>Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong> (4:09.81), Trojan&#8217;s <strong>Haley Anderson<\/strong> (4:13.22) and NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Allison Schmitt<\/strong> (4:13.53) also vied for the title in finals.<\/p>\n<p>NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Sierra Schmidt<\/strong> touched out Saint Petersburg&#8217;s <strong>Melanie Margalis<\/strong> for the B final win, 4:11.33 to 4:11.52.<\/p>\n<pre><b>                           === A -
