Swimming World will provide a unique\u00a0analysis of each\u00a0zone. Here, you\u2019ll find the zones\u2019 strengths, top athletes, and top times.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is Swimming World&#8217;s first Top 20 Zone Times story of this short course season. We will be highlighting the newcomers to top of each event, age group and zone.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Eastern Zone<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Girls:\u00a0<\/strong>Nation&#8217;s Capital teammates\u00a0<strong>Kate Hallmark<\/strong> (50 back) and <b>Giulia Baroldi<\/b> (200 IM) led the way for the 11-year old girls. <strong>Kristin Cornish\u00a0<\/strong>(1650 free) and\u00a0NOVA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zoe Dixon\u00a0<\/strong>(100 back) also put their names atop the zone. In the next age group,\u00a0<strong>Serafina Viola<\/strong> led the 12-year olds with two zones bests in the 50 and 100 free. Winchester Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Molly Young<\/strong> (200 free) and Rockville Montgomery Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abby Carr<\/strong> (100 back) joined Viola atop the age group.<\/p>\n<p>Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics had two 13-year old girls hit zone bests in\u00a0<strong>Isabel Gormley<\/strong> (200 free and 400 IM) and\u00a0<strong>Sophia Zhang<\/strong> (200 breast).\u00a0<strong>Phoebe Bacon\u00a0<\/strong>of Nation&#8217;s Capital (100 back) and\u00a0<strong>Olivia Bray<\/strong> of the Virginia Gators (200 back) added their names atop the backstroke events.<\/p>\n<p>Another Nation&#8217;s Capital swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Katie Mack<\/strong> added her name to the list in the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 IM for the 14-year old girls. She was joined by teammate\u00a0<strong>Charlotte Fieeiki\u00a0<\/strong>(100 back) atop the age group. Virginia Gators teammates\u00a0<strong>Caroline Kulp<\/strong> (200 fly and 500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Emma Muzzy<\/strong> (400 IM) also made it to the top of the age group.<\/p>\n<p>A trio of newcomers made it atop the 15-year old girls&#8217; ranks.\u00a0<strong>Oliva Jack<\/strong> (100 breast),\u00a0<strong>Becca Evans<\/strong> (50 free), and Central Bucks Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Morgan Scott<\/strong> (100 free) all swam zone bests.<\/p>\n<p>Nation&#8217;s Capital was represented yet again in the 16-year old girls age group with\u00a0<strong>Isabella Rongione<\/strong>&#8216;s zone-topping 200 fly and 400 IM. Rockville Montgomery&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jaycee Yegher<\/strong> chipped in top times in the 100 and 200 breast as well.\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Stone<\/strong> (500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Emma Corby<\/strong> (100 fly) also swam top times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Smith<\/strong> sprinted her way to the top of the 17-year old girls rankings in the 50 and 100 free. Jersey Wahoos swimmer\u00a0<strong>Molly Kowal<\/strong> posted zone bests in the 1000 free and 200 breast, while Central Bucks swimmer\u00a0<strong>Allie Szekely<\/strong> also chipped in two zone bests in teh 200 back and 200 fly. <strong>Hannah Cox<\/strong> of the\u00a0Upper Valley Aquatic Club (500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Grace Baumer<\/strong> (100 breast) also busted out zone bests.<\/p>\n<p>Superstar\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>\u00a0of Nation&#8217;s Capital now has her name atop the 18-year old girls&#8217; 50 free, 500 free, and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Kaitlin Harty<\/strong> also posted three top times in the 200 free, 100 back, and 200 back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boys:\u00a0<\/strong>In the 11-year old boys age group, there are three new top times at the apex of the Eastern Zone.\u00a0<strong>Brock Mozoki<\/strong>\u00a0of South Shore YMCA (50 free),\u00a0<strong>Sean Santos\u00a0<\/strong>of Rockville Montgomery Swim Club (1650 free), and\u00a0<strong>Landon Gentry<\/strong> of Nation&#8217;s Capital (100 fly) all etched their names atop the age group.<\/p>\n<p><b>Brett Feyerick\u00a0<\/b>of Nation&#8217;s Capital posted a number of zone bests for the 12-year old boys in the 50, 200, and 500 free, 50 and 100 back, and 200 IM. He leads the zone in eight total events. NOVA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Attest Camurdan\u00a0<\/strong>(100 free) and\u00a0Aquatic Club of the West Shore&#8217;s<strong> Zachary Peiffer\u00a0<\/strong>(50 fly) also hit top times for the age group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Catron<\/strong>, another Nation&#8217;s Capital swimmer, provided the only new times atop the 13-year old boys in the 500 free and 100 back. Meanwhile, in the 14-year old boys age group,\u00a0<strong>River Wright<\/strong> of Bluefish Swim Club zoomed to three zone bests in the 50 free, 100 breast, and 200 IM. East Coast Aquatic Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cason Wilburn<\/strong> now has five zone bests after topping the zone in the 200 free and 1000 free this past weekend. Carton&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Sean Conway<\/strong> busted out a 1:54.10 200 back to lead the 14-year old boys.\u00a0<strong>Will Bargo<\/strong>\u00a0(200 fly) and Rockville Montgomery&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathan Watts<\/strong>\u00a0(1650) rounded out the new top times for the age group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jake Johnson<\/strong> (Delaware Swim Team) clocked the lone zone bests in the 200 fly and 200 IM for the 15-year old boys.\u00a0<strong>Max Miranda<\/strong>, 16, shined in his age group. The Bluefish Swim Club swimmer topped the zone in the 200 and 500 free, 200 back, 200 fly, and the 200 and 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Khalil Fonder<\/strong> of the Virginia Gators also swam zone bests for the 16-year old boys in the 100 back and 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p><b>Fynn\u00a0<\/b><b>Minuth\u00a0<\/b>gutted out a 4:32.33 to lead the 17-year old boys in the 500 free.\u00a0<strong>David Crossland<\/strong> of the Delaware Swim Team (100 fly) and\u00a0<strong>Sam Tarter<\/strong> of Nation&#8217;s Capital (400 IM) \u00a0also topped the age group to round out the Eastern Zone.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Central Zone<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><b>Girls:\u00a0<\/b>Ohio State Swim Club had two swimmers reach new zone bests in the 11-year old girls age group with\u00a0<strong>Martina Peroni<\/strong> (200 and 500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Ava Lachey<\/strong> (200 IM).\u00a0<strong>Scarlet Martin\u00a0<\/strong>of the Iowa Flyers Swim Club<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>notched zone bests in the 100 free and the 100 and 200 fly, while\u00a0<strong>Aubree Brouwer<\/strong> of the Jasper County Killer Whales posted top times in the 50 and 100 breast.\u00a0<strong>Taylin Phrasivilay<\/strong> of Team Foxjet cranked out a 2:37.25 200 breast to top the zone as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Morris<\/strong> of Northwest Dupage YMCA rocketed zone bests for the 12-year old girls in the 50, 100 and 200 free, while\u00a0<strong>Eliot Kennedy<\/strong>\u00a0of Waves Bloomington took the 500 and 100 free.\u00a0<strong>Aurora Roghair<\/strong> of the Iowa Flyers muscled out a 18:24.09 in the 1650 free for another zone-best freestyle swim. St. Charles Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellie Brault<\/strong> (50 and 100 breast),\u00a0Academy Bullets Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Wenig<\/strong> (200 breast), Waukesha Express Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Morgan Dietzel\u00a0<\/strong>(200 back) and\u00a0<strong>Grace Sala\u00a0<\/strong>(200 fly) also swam new top times.<\/p>\n<p>St. Charles swimmer <b>Mary Jania<\/b> clocked top times in the 100 and 200 breast for the 13-year old girls.\u00a0<strong>Ashley Bengston<\/strong>\u00a0of Waves Bloomington chugged along to a zone best in the 1000 free with a 10:37.43, while\u00a0<strong>Courtney Harris\u00a0<\/strong>of the Rec Plex Sharks Swim Team bolted to a 24.14 zone-best 50 free.\u00a0<strong>Kylie Goit<\/strong> of the Plymouth-Canton Cruisers (200 back and 200 IM) and\u00a0<strong>Berit Quass<\/strong> of the Central Iowa Aquatics (100 fly) also topped the zone.<\/p>\n<p>Springfield YMCA&#8217;s crushed six new top times for the 14-year old girls in the 200 free, 500 free, 1650 free, 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM. Carmel Swim Club teammates\u00a0<strong>Grace Pangburn<\/strong> (100 fly) and\u00a0<strong>Kelly Pash<\/strong> (200 fly) posted top times, as well. Another set of teammates, this time from Lincoln Select Swimming, put out top times in the 200 breast (<strong>Marusha Ather<\/strong>) and 400 IM (<strong>Berkeley Livingston<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Janessa Mathews<\/strong>, an Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100-meter breast, topped the 100 and 200 breast for the 15-year old girls.\u00a0<strong>Anya Goeders<\/strong> of the Mako Swim Team topped the age group in the 50 and 100 free. Waves Bloomington teammates <b>Melissa Pish<\/b> (500 and 1000 free) and\u00a0<strong>Grace Ariola<\/strong> (200 back) posted zone bests.\u00a0<strong>Ruby Martin<\/strong> of the Iowa Flyers chipped in two top times in the 200 free and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Taylor Acheson<\/strong> of the Kansas City Blazers posted a 2:06.11 200 fly to top the zone.<\/p>\n<p>Carmel teammates\u00a0<strong>Emma Nordin<\/strong> (200 free, 500 free, and 1650 free) and\u00a0<strong>Sammie Burchill<\/strong> (200 fly and 200 back) posted zone bests for the 16-year old age group.\u00a0<strong>Sarah Schemmel<\/strong> of th(e Piranhas Swim Club (100 free and 100 fly) and\u00a0<strong>Ingrid Wall<\/strong> of New Trier Swim Club (50 free and 100 breast) each notched two new top times, while\u00a0<strong>Mckenzee Gordon<\/strong> of Waves Bloomington grabbed the top spot in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>Crown Point Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Kukurugya<\/strong> blasted four top times in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM for the 17-year old girls.\u00a0<strong>Claire Adams<\/strong> of Carmel topped the 200 free and 200 back.\u00a0<strong>Haley Hynes<\/strong> posted an impressive 23.35 50 free and 53.42 100 back.\u00a0<strong>Lauren Peterson<\/strong> of the Kansas City Blazers also made a splash at the top in the 1650 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Madison Wright<\/strong>&#8216;s 2:00.48 200 fly was the lone change atop the 18-year old girls in the Central Zone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boys:\u00a0<\/strong>In the Central Zone,\u00a0<strong>Andrew Lin<\/strong> of Champaign County YMCA led the charge for the 11-year old boys with six new zone bests in the 50 and 200 free, 200 back, 50 fly, 100 IM, and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Alec Filipovic<\/strong>\u00a0of the St. Charles Swim Team (100 free),\u00a0<strong>Tyson Tucci<\/strong>\u00a0of the Redbird Swim Club (1000 free),\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Brady\u00a0<\/strong><b>McInerney\u00a0<\/b>(50 breast) also chipped in top times in the age group.<\/p>\n<p>Black Hawk Area Swim Team swimmer\u00a0<strong>Dylan Moffat<\/strong>\u00a0swam a 4:55.96 500 free and 17:21.60 to top the 13-year old boys.\u00a0<strong>Forrest Frazier<\/strong> of the Iowa Flyers (100 breast), <b>Thomas Reedy<\/b> of Waves Bloomington (200 breast) and\u00a0<strong>Adam Milling<\/strong> of Springfield YMCA (400 IM) also etched their names atop the age group.<\/p>\n<p>There were a slew of changes atop the 14-year old boys&#8217; top times.\u00a0<strong>Matthew Knox\u00a0<\/strong>of Springfield YMCA topped the 50 free, while Lane Four Aquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Peyton Werner<\/strong> swam top times in the 200 free, 500 free, and 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Shane\u00a0<\/strong><b>Blindman<\/b> of the Hudson Area Swimming Association swam zone bests in the 200 IM and 100 back, while\u00a0<strong>Caleb Babb\u00a0<\/strong>of the Jacksonville Sharks (200 breast and 100 fly),\u00a0<strong>Drake Stallworth\u00a0<\/strong>of the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers (200 fly), and\u00a0<strong>Trystan\u00a0<\/strong><b>Lundgren\u00a0<\/b>of WEST Swim Club (100 breast) also swam zone bests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong>\u00a0of Carmel and\u00a0<strong>Caleb Aman\u00a0<\/strong>each added three new top times to the 15 -year old boys age group. Kibler topped the 50, 100, and 200 free, while Aman swam a zone best in the 200 breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Justin Grender<\/strong>\u00a0of the Cincinnati Marlins popped off top times in the 100 and 200 back.\u00a0<strong>Jacob Furlong<\/strong> of the Chicago Wolfpack (500 free),\u00a0<strong>Ryan Downing<\/strong> of the Kansas City Blazers (1650 free), and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Sego<\/strong> of the Academy Bullets (200 fly) also added new top times.<\/p>\n<p>In the 16-year old boys age group,\u00a0<strong>Eric Knowles<\/strong> of the Dayton Raiders (400 IM), <b>Zach Bunn<\/b> of Lane Four Aquatics (200 free),\u00a0<strong>Spencer Walker<\/strong> of the Academy Bullets (200 back), and\u00a0<strong>John Paul Becker<\/strong> (200 breast) all swam zone bests.<\/p>\n<p>Each top time in the 17-year old boys age group was taken down this past weekend.\u00a0<strong>Will Scott<\/strong> of the Iowa Flyers took charge of the 50 and 100 free.\u00a0<strong>Spencer Lehamn<\/strong> of Northridge Area Swimming Association topped the 500 free, 1000 free, and 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Justin Temprano<\/strong> of Badger Aquatics Club took both backstroke races. Meanwhile,\u00a0<strong>Chris Phillips<\/strong> of Lyons Swim Club claimed the top spot in the 200 breast and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Nathan Spencer<\/strong> of Lane Four (200 free),\u00a0<strong>Andy Grever<\/strong> of the Academy Bullets (1650 free), his teammate <strong>Michael Milinovich\u00a0<\/strong>(200 fly),\u00a0<strong>Weston Credit<\/strong> of WEST Swim Club (100 breast), and his teammate\u00a0<strong>Franco Reyes<\/strong> (100 fly) all topped the age group.<\/p>\n<p>Iowa Flyers teammates\u00a0<strong>Nick Saulnier<\/strong> (500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Mark McGlaughlin\u00a0<\/strong>(100 fly) topped the 18-year old boys alongside Fishers Area Swimming Tigers member\u00a0<strong>Glen Brown<\/strong>&#8216;s 400 IM.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Southern Zone<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Girls: Charlotte Hook<\/strong> of Triangle Aquatics Club zoomed to the top of the 11-year old girls ranks in the 100 free, 50 back, 100 back, 50 breast, and 200 IM. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Sarah Jackson<\/strong> also posted a top time in the 100 free and 500 free.\u00a0<strong>Claire Curzan<\/strong> (50 fly) and Dynamo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rye Ulett<\/strong> (400 IM) also swam top times for the age group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tristen Ulett<\/strong> of Dynamo clocked zone bests in the 200 free and 200 fly for the 14-year old girls.\u00a0<strong>Anna Freed<\/strong> also topped two events with zone bests in the 100 back and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Jade Foelske<\/strong> rounded out the age group with a new top time in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ana Pozder<\/strong> of Triangle busted out four top times in the 200, 500, and 1650 free in addition to her 4:20.18 400 IM. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Olivia Carter<\/strong> dropped a 2:01.52 in the 200 fly to lead the zone.\u00a0<strong>Jessica Nava<\/strong>&#8216;s 100 free and 100 fly placed her atop the age group as well.\u00a0<strong>Kirschtine Balbuena\u00a0<\/strong>(50 free),\u00a0<strong>Celi Guzman<\/strong> (100 back), and\u00a0<strong>Christin Rockway<\/strong> (200 IM) also topped the age group.<\/p>\n<p>Another Triangle swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Julia Poole<\/strong>, posted three top times for the 16-year old girls in the 100 and 200 breast and 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Morgan Tankersley<\/strong> (200 free and 500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Katie Schorr<\/strong> (50 free and 100 free) each swam two zone bests.\u00a0<strong>Abi Wilder<\/strong> (100 back),\u00a0<strong>Kate Moore<\/strong> (200 back), Dynamo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Layton\u00a0<\/strong>(1650 free), and Lakeside Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brooke Forde<\/strong> (400 IM) also clinched top spots in the zone.<\/p>\n<p>Forde&#8217;s Lakeside teammate\u00a0<strong>Kennedy Lohman<\/strong> blasted a 2:16.45 in the 200 breast to top the 17-year old girls.\u00a0<strong>Kyla Valls<\/strong> swam zone bests in the 100 and 200 free.\u00a0<strong>Kendall Brent<\/strong> (500 free),\u00a0<strong>Caroline White<\/strong> (100 breast),\u00a0<strong>Paige Hamilton<\/strong> (100 fly), and\u00a0<strong>Christina Lappin<\/strong> (200 fly) also chipped in top times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maddie Hess<\/strong> led the 18-year old girls with two new zone bests in the 100 and 200 back.\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Stinson<\/strong> (1650 free),\u00a0<strong>Joanna Evans<\/strong> (1000 free), and\u00a0<strong>Brooke Hansen<\/strong> (100 free) all swam zone bests to round out the Southern Zone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boys:<\/strong>\u00a0Raleigh Swimming Association&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joe Bunger<\/strong> clocked four new top times for the Southern Zone&#8217;s 11-year old boys in the 100 free, 100 back, 100 IM, and 200 IM. Triangle Aquatic Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Braeden Haughey<\/strong> (500 free), Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club&#8217;s <strong>Matthew Bittner<\/strong> (200 back) and\u00a0<strong>Josh Zuchowski<\/strong> (50 back) also contributed new top times.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bunger&#8217;s teammate,\u00a0<strong>Alex Smyre<\/strong> popped off a 23.14 50 free to lead the 12-year old boys.\u00a0<strong>Liam Swain<\/strong> of Katy Aquatic Team for Youth (1000 free) and\u00a0<strong>Nathan Jin<\/strong>\u00a0of Dynamo (100 breast) also chipped in zone bests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke Uttley<\/strong> (500 free) and\u00a0<strong>Joshua Balbi<\/strong>\u00a0hit top times for the 13-year old boys in the 500 free and 100 back, respectively. SwimMAC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Conall Monahan<\/strong> (200 breast) and Cypress Fairbanks&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Cameron Dafoe\u00a0<\/strong>(400 IM) also swam zone bests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zachary Hils<\/strong>, 14, crushed it with six new zone bests in the 100, 200 and 500 free, 200 back, 200 IM, and 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Izaak Bastian<\/strong>&#8216;s 57.19 100 breast and <strong>Sterling Crane<\/strong>&#8216;s 51.01 100 fly also cracked the top of the age group.<\/p>\n<p><b>Will Chan<\/b> busted out four zone-best times for the 15-year old boys in the 100 and 200 breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM. Triangle Aquatic Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>John Healy<\/strong> posted two zone bests in the 100 and 200 back.\u00a0<strong>Nicholas Hackett<\/strong> (100 fly) and\u00a0<strong>Nico Ferrara\u00a0<\/strong>(50 free) also chipped in top times.<\/p>\n<p>In the 16-year old boys age group, <strong>Ariel Spektor<\/strong> cranked out zone bests in the 100 free and 100 fly.\u00a0<strong>Santi Corredor<\/strong> zoomed to the top of the age group in the 200 and 500 free. <strong>Austin Katz<\/strong> (100 back) and\u00a0<strong>Patrick Groters<\/strong> (200 IM) also added their names to the top along with First Colony&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Darrin Asphall<\/strong> (1650 free), Dynamo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(200 back), and\u00a0<strong>James Daughtery<\/strong> (100 breast).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tyler Rice<\/strong> (100 free) and\u00a0<strong>Andy Song An<\/strong> (200 free) hit the top of the freestyle ranks for the 17-year old boys.
