The men finished with a total of 471 while the women collected a total of 335.5 points for first. On the women&#8217;s side, it was Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) who took second overall with a total of 256.5 points, while Montverde finished third overall with 213 points. The men of Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale) turned in a total of 187 points for second, while Saint Andrew&#8217;s (Boca Raton) was third with 159.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyla Valls<\/strong>\u00a0led the women&#8217;s 200 free throughout the entire race, finishing first with a time of 1:47.28. <strong>Kendall Dawson<\/strong>\u00a0was second to the wall, stopping the clock at 1:48.35. Third went to <strong>Abby Burke<\/strong>\u00a0and her time of 1:49.90.<\/p>\n<p>The top four in the women&#8217;s 50 free kept it close, finishing .51 seconds apart.\u00a0<strong>Katie Schorr<\/strong>\u00a0finished first with a time of 23.05.\u00a0<strong>Chade Nercisio<\/strong>\u00a0turned in a time of 23.41 for a narrow second place finish, while\u00a0<strong>Isabella Garofalo<\/strong>\u00a0took third with a time of 23.45. Fourth went to\u00a0<strong>Claire Maiocco\u00a0<\/strong>who posted a time of 23.56.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 50 free, all three top finishers touched under the 21-second mark.\u00a0<strong>Rain Tjon-A-Joe<\/strong>\u00a0took first with a final time of 20.26, while second went to\u00a0<strong>Wiley Watson<\/strong> of Bolles and his time of 20.75.\u00a0<strong>Anton Voronin<\/strong>\u00a0finished third with a time of 20.78.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Nava<\/strong>\u00a0claimed a new state title in the women&#8217;s 100 fly stopping the clock at 53.77. Nava&#8217;s time replaces\u00a0<strong>Chelsea Britt&#8217;s<\/strong> time of 53.83 from 2010.\u00a0<strong>Paige Hamilton<\/strong>\u00a0took second in the event with a time of 53.87, while third went to Maiocco and her time of 54.45.<\/p>\n<p>Bolles&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Andy Song An<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Matthew Garcias<\/strong>\u00a0battled for first in the men&#8217;s 100 back stopping the clock only .30 seconds apart. Song An got his hand on the wall first to finish in 47.58, while Garcia turned in a final time of 47.88.\u00a0<strong>Van Cates<\/strong> of was third with a 50.22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caroline White<\/strong>\u00a0downed the seven-year-old state record in the women&#8217;s 100 breaststroke. White stopped the clock at 1:01.68 to replace\u00a0<strong>Lindsey McKnight&#8217;s<\/strong> 2008 time of 1:01.73.\u00a0<strong>Olga Lapteva <\/strong>of Bolles\u00a0finished second in the event with a time of 1:03.79 and third went to\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Zubero\u00a0<\/strong>of and her time of 1:04.15.<\/p>\n<p>Bolles&#8217;\u00a0<strong>James Daughtery<\/strong> neared the 2004 state record of 54.72 in the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke finishing a shy .07 away from the record. Daughtery stopped the clock at 54.79 for first. Second went to Tjon-A-Joe and his time of 55.63, while\u00a0<strong>Izaak Bastian\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a 57.19.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Santiago Corredor<\/strong>&#8211;men&#8217;s 200 free (1:37.76)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Christin Rockway<\/strong>&#8211;women&#8217;s 200 IM (2:00.39)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Patrick Groters<\/strong>&#8211;men&#8217;s 200 IM (1:50.22)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2A Men and Women<\/h3>\n<p>The women of Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest) swept the women&#8217;s competition in the 2A division with a total of 377 points. Arnold (Panama City Beach) finished second overall with a total of 166 points, while the women of Stanton (Jacksonville) took third with 132.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side, it was American Heritage (Plantation) who pulled ahead to finish first with 250 points. Jesuit (Tampa) was a close second with 244.5 points, while Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest) took third with 185.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Niki Urquidi<\/strong> posted a quick 1:48.17 to win the women&#8217;s 200 free.\u00a0<strong>Ryley Ober<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 1:50.93, while\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ward<\/strong> was third with a time of 1:51.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julien Pinon<\/strong> blasted the competition in the men&#8217;s 200 free finishing with a 1:37.75.\u00a0<strong>Miguel Cancel<\/strong> took second overall with a time of 1:39.11, while\u00a0<strong>Dakota Mahaffey<\/strong> was third with a 1:40.01.<\/p>\n<p>Pinon collected his second win of the day in the men&#8217;s 100 fly, turning in a time of 48.83.<\/p>\n<p>The top three finishers in the women&#8217;s 50 free were the only women under the 24-second mark.\u00a0<strong>Tori Bindi\u00a0<\/strong>claimed first with a time of 23.52.\u00a0<strong>Catharine Cooper\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 23.69, while third went to\u00a0<strong>Andrea Santander\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 23.90.<\/p>\n<p>Bindi continued to show her prowess in the sprint freestyle events by grabbing the win in the women&#8217;s 100 free with a 50.38.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sherridon Dressel<\/strong> neared the 2010 state record of 53.83 in the women&#8217;s 100 fly with a 54.04.\u00a0<strong>Hannah Retherford<\/strong> claimed second in the event with a time of 55.82, while\u00a0<strong>Emily Cordovi<\/strong> was third with a 56.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theodore Smith<\/strong> finished first in the men&#8217;s 500 free with a time of 4:23.91, while\u00a0<strong>Miguel Cancel<\/strong> was a close second with a 4:24.35.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kelly Fertel<\/strong>&#8211;200 IM (2:01.20)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Daniel Orcutt<\/strong>&#8211;200 IM (1:50.68)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manden Smith<\/strong>&#8212; 50 Free (21.13)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Niki Urquidi<\/strong>&#8212; 500 Free (4:46.97)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agon is the proud sponsor of all high school coverage (recruiting, results, state championships, etc.) on SwimmingWorld.com.
