That swim vaulted him to 13th in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong>, already ranked sixth in the world with a 48.16 from the Moscow stop, took second tonight in 48.38 in a close race.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia&#8217;s <strong>Velimir Stjepanovic<\/strong> clinched the final paycheck with a third-place time of 48.86.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s <strong>Yannick Agnel<\/strong> (49.33), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Luca Leonardi<\/strong> (49.53), Argentina&#8217;s <strong>Federico Grabich<\/strong> (49.58), South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Doug Erasmus<\/strong> (49.78) and South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Caydon Muller<\/strong> (49.78) rounded out the heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> turned up the heat in the 200 free with a 1:55.41 for the win. \u00a0That swim beat her previous season best, a Hungarian record of 1:55.81 from the Hong Kong stop as she leapfrogged Missy Franklin&#8217;s 1:55.49 into fifth in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Federica Pellegrini<\/strong>, ranked third in the world with a 1:55.00 from the French Open, took second tonight in 1:57.42, while Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Jaz Carlin<\/strong> earned third in 1:58.45.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand&#8217;s <strong>Lauren Boyle<\/strong> (1:59.24), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Chiara Masini Luccetti<\/strong> (2:00.57), Germany&#8217;s<strong> Sarah Kohler<\/strong> (2:00.80), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Diletta Carli<\/strong> (2:01.82) and Austria&#8217;s<strong> Lisa Zaiser<\/strong> (2:02.89) placed fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a true heavyweight matchup, South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Cameron van der Burgh<\/strong> looked at home as a veteran of the FINA World Cup as he blitzed the sprint breaststroke field including world-record holder <strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Van der Burgh won the event in 26.77, not far off his second-ranked 26.62 from Worlds. \u00a0That time is just outside the top 10 swims of all time in the event, primarily dominated by both Peaty and van der Burgh.<\/p>\n<p>Peaty, meanwhile, wound up taking second overall in 27.16 with South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Giulio Zorzi<\/strong> claiming third in 27.45.<\/p>\n<p>Panama&#8217;s <strong>Edgar Crespo<\/strong> took fourth in 27.49 with Uzbekistan&#8217;s <strong>Vlad Mustafin<\/strong> placing fifth in 27.85.<\/p>\n<p>Paraguay&#8217;s <strong>Renato Prono<\/strong> (27.94), USA&#8217;s <strong>Kevin Cordes<\/strong> (28.02) and USA&#8217;s <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> (28.57) also swam in the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> broke her Jamaican record in the women&#8217;s 100 breast with a sizzler against a loaded field at the 2015 FINA World Cup Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>Atkinson threw down a 1:05.93 for the win, breaking her previous mark of 1:06.21 from the World Championships in Kazan. \u00a0That swim had ranked fourth in the world this year, and tonight&#8217;s effort still left her in fourth overall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World Rankings 100 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Molly Hannis<\/strong> hit the wall second in 1:06.60 to jump into seventh in the world, while Turkey&#8217;s <strong>Viktoria Zeynep Gunes<\/strong> wound up third in 1:06.96 to finish just off her 12th-ranked 1:06.77 from an amazing World Junior Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Leiston Pickett<\/strong> (1:07.81), Denmark&#8217;s <strong>Rikke Moller Pedersen<\/strong> (1:08.03), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Rie Kaneto<\/strong> (1:08.14), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Runa Imai<\/strong> (1:08.16) and South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Kaylene Corbett<\/strong> (1:10.20) closed out the heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong> powered her way to another first-place paycheck as she won the 100 fly tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Lee stopped the clock in a time of 58.57 for the win, while Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> finished second overall in 58.75. \u00a0USA&#8217;s <strong>Cassidy Bayer<\/strong> wound up third in 59.09.<\/p>\n<p>Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Svenja Stoffel<\/strong> (59.43), Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Jemma Lowe<\/strong> (59.56), Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Sasha Touretski<\/strong> (59.62), Switzerland&#8217;s<strong> Maria Ugolkova<\/strong> (1:00.43) and Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Danielle Villars<\/strong> (1:00.57) also competed in the championship heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong> stunned the crowd with a world-best time in the men&#8217;s 100-meter back at the 2015 FINA World Cup Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>Larkin uncorked a blistering time of 52.11 to break his Australian and Commonwealth record of 52.26 set at the Doha stop earlier this week. \u00a0That time also cleared <strong>Ryan Murphy&#8217;s<\/strong> 52.18 from the World Championships in Kazan as the top ranked effort in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>Larkin&#8217;s time tied him for third all time in the event&#8217;s history as well as he just missed the world record and textile bests in the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Time 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p>Larkin had some company as USA&#8217;s <strong>David Plummer<\/strong> also put up a sizzler with a second-place 52.51 to vault to fourth in the world rankings this year.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Masaki Kaneko<\/strong> took third this evening in 54.37, while Australia&#8217;s <strong>Ashley Delaney<\/strong> finished outside the money with a fourth-place 54.69.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> (55.12), Romania&#8217;s <strong>Robert Glinta<\/strong> (55.36), USA&#8217;s <strong>Michael Reilman<\/strong> (55.98) and Japan&#8217;s <strong>Keita Sunama<\/strong> (56.36) finished fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong> picked up a victory in the sprint backstroke against <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Seebohm put up a time of 27.57 for the win, just off her third-ranked 27.47 from the Australian Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu took home silver in a time of 27.99, breaking another Hungarian record. \u00a0She set the previous mark with a 28.16 at the Bergen Swim Festival earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong> collected another medal with a third-place time of 28.32.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s <strong>Daryna Zevina<\/strong> (28.42), Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Harriet Cooper<\/strong> (28.43), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Emi Moronuki<\/strong> (28.74), France&#8217;s <strong>Pauline Mahieu<\/strong> (29.58) and Argentina&#8217;s <strong>Andrea Berrino<\/strong> (30.01) placed fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s <strong>Viktor Bromer<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 200 fly in a close battle with South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Bromer won in 1:55.98, well off his seventh-ranked season best of 1:54.47 from Worlds. \u00a0Le Clos, meanwhile, checked in with a 1:56.03 for second as he did not come close to replicating his top-end speed of 1:53.68 from Worlds that ranks his third this year.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore&#8217;s <strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> picked up third overall in 1:56.26, while Hungary&#8217;s Bence Biczo took fourth in 1:56.43.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Christopher Wright<\/strong> (1:58.18), Switzerland&#8217;s<strong> Nils Liess<\/strong> (1:58.83), South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Michael Meyer<\/strong> (1:59.92) and New Zealand&#8217;s<strong> Isaac Foote<\/strong> (2:00.27) comprised the rest of the heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> earned another medal, this time gold in the 200 IM with a clear victory in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu put up a 2:08.61 for the win. \u00a0She wasn&#8217;t near her amazing world record time of 2:06.12 from Worlds earlier this summer, but she had plenty in the tank for the win.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Caitlin Leverenz<\/strong> threw down a 2:10.35 for second to better her eighth-ranked season best of 2:10.51 from the Pan American Games. \u00a0But, it wasn&#8217;t enough to move past <strong>Melanie Margalis&#8217;<\/strong> seventh-ranked 2:10.26 from Sectionals in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Sakiko Shimizu<\/strong> placed third in 2:10.76 to move to 10th in the world rankings in what proved to be a strong top three.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> (2:12.65), Uzbekistan&#8217;s<strong> Ranokhon Amanova<\/strong> (2:12.93), USA&#8217;s<strong> Meghan Small<\/strong> (2:13.47), Austria&#8217;s <strong>Lisa Zaiser<\/strong> (2:14.44) and Argentina&#8217;s <strong>Virginia Bardach<\/strong> (2:15.93) placed fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 400 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>James Guy<\/strong>, the third-ranked 400 freestyler in the world with a 3:43.75 from Worlds, topped the middle distance event in Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>Guy won this evening in 3:46.91, while Serbia&#8217;s<strong> Velimir Stjepanovic<\/strong> picked up a silver in a time of 3:47.75.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Stephen Milne<\/strong> closed out a GBR 1-3 with a third-place 3:48.61.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s <strong>Mykhailo Romanchuk<\/strong> (3:48.83), Czech&#8217;s <strong>Jan Micka<\/strong> (3:49.22), Ukraine&#8217;s <strong>Sergii Frolov<\/strong> (3:51.45), Hungary&#8217;s<strong> Gergo Kis<\/strong> (3:52.24) and Austria&#8217;s <strong>David Brandl<\/strong> (4:00.81) also put up times in the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Melanie Wright<\/strong> put up a 24.72 to win the women&#8217;s splash-and-dash. \u00a0That time fell short of her 12th-ranked season best of 24.63 from the Australian Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Marta Ciesla<\/strong> raced her way to silver in a 25.31 with Czech&#8217;s<strong> Anna Kolarova<\/strong> earning third in 25.35.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s<strong> Elizaveta Bazarova<\/strong> (25.36), Hungary&#8217;s<strong> Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> (25.37), Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Harriet Cooper<\/strong> (25.66), Luxembourg&#8217;s<strong> Julie Meynen<\/strong> (25.70) and Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Sasha Touretski<\/strong> (26.13) also competed in the championship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Daniel Gyurta<\/strong> clinched the men&#8217;s 200-meter breaststroke title with a time of 2:10.43.
