THE Marshall swimming and diving team split its Friday dual meet at Youngstown State, beating the Penguins 170-73 but falling to Wisconsin Green-Bay 132-111. The results move the Herd&#39;s season record to 2-3. <\/p>\n<p>Marshall dominated in the stroke events, which have been its strength so far in the 2007-08 season. Lauren Goodwin, Kristin Wheatley and Ally Melinsky went one, two and three respectively in the 400-yard individual medley and Kayla Truswell, Wheatley, Samantha Noland and Goodwin took the top four spots in the 200-yard butterfly. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;It was tight race between us and Wisconsin Green-Bay all night,&quot; Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus said. &quot;It was exactly what we thought it would be. We thought we would do well in the IM and breaststroke and the girls really dominated those events. It just wasn&#39;t enough.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>Senior breaststroker Michaela Sceli tacked on another win to her season total, taking the 200-yard breast. Jenny Johnnson continues to perform well early in her Marshall career. The sophomore won the 1000-yard freestyle and finished second in 500-yard free. <\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin-Green Bay&#39;s Shannon Demrow was a pain the Herd&#39;s side all night. The freshman won both the 500 and 200-yard freestyle events.
