BRONX, New York, October 26. – THE Fordham Swimming and Diving teams swept their meet with St. Peter's College at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center as the Fordham women (2-0) defeated the Peahens, 136-60, while the men (1-1) won by a 141-94 count. <\/p>\n
Fordham opened the meet capturing the 200 medley relay in both competitions. The Fordham women's relay, consisting of Christina Cosentino, Nicole Marshall, Caitlin Napoli, and Amanda Ciccone, won in a time of 1:50.27, while the men's relay, comprised of Robert Gitman, Sean Terry, Ryan Coombs and Justin Coombs, won in a time of 1:39.68. <\/p>\n
In the individual events for the women, Rebekah Weiner and Marisa Colangelo placed first in two events, as Weiner took the 50 freestyle (26.23) and the 100 freestyle (56.51), and Colangelo won both diving events (1M – 236.70;3M – 234.90). The Rams had six other winners, including Emily Wojdyla in the 1000 freestyle (10:42.45), Tressa Dunn in the 200 freestyle (1:58.33), Amanda Ciccone in the 200 IM (2:12.32), Caitlin Napoli in the 100 butterfly (59.02), Tara McWilliams in the 100 backstroke (1:02.72), and Nicole Marshall in the 500 freestyle (5:19.20). <\/p>\n
On the men's side, Brian Jucas won the 200 freestyle in 1:47.79, followed by Ryan Coombs taking the 200 IM in 1:58.97. Matthew Cordes won the 100 butterfly (55.59), while Justin Coombs took the 100 backstroke in 54.96. Donato Callara was the lone dual winner, winning both diving events (1M – 308.10; 3M – 302.40) <\/p>\n
Fordham capped the evening by winning both 200 freestyle relays. The women (Amanda Irving, Alexandra Alessi, Wojdyla, and Dunn) won in 1:42.32, while the men (Billy Colton, Kyle Silbernagel, Eric Prendergast and R. Coombs) took first in 1:30.38. <\/p>\n
The Fordham Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams will next be in action on Wednesday, November 7th, as they host Stony Brook at 5:00 PM. <\/p>\n
