The Swimming World Trials\/Finals Fall Classic wrapped up with finals on Sunday evening in six different events. Five more Roger Williams University pool records went down \u2013 making it 12 for the weekend \u2013 while just as they did on Saturday night, Bluefish teammates Max Miranda<\/b> and River Wright<\/b> each had three victories.<\/p>\n
Miranda picked up a victory in the 200 free to open the session\u2019s action. His time of 1:41.09 was just tenths off the pool record, but he would not be denied again. He came back to dominate the 200 fly and 400 IM, setting pool marks in both to make it four in six events for the meet. Miranda clocked 1:49.62 in the fly and closed the meet with a 3:58.60 in the IM. Notably, Cape Cod\u2019s Jarrett Jones<\/b>, who set a pool record in the 200 breast on Saturday, finished second in all three of those events.<\/p>\n
Wright, meanwhile, put on a show in the 13-14 age group for the second straight night. He won the 100 breast in 1:01.80, the 100 free in 48.92, and the 200 back in 1:55.59. As was the case on Saturday night, Wright\u2019s times in two of his three events \u2013 the 100 free and 200 back \u2013 surpassed any swum in the senior division, and he would have finished second in the senior 100 breast.<\/p>\n
Bluefish\u2019s Lilly Vivado<\/b> set her third pool record of the meet as she lowered her own mark to a 1:53.01 in the 200 free after previously lowering her own marks in the 200 IM and 500 free on Saturday. Vivado also placed first in the 200 back in 2:06.49, and she finished second in the 400 IM<\/p>\n
Seacoast Dover\u2019s Emma Whall<\/b> won that 400 IM race with a 4:30.24 to set her second pool record of the meet. She previously set the pool record in winning the 1650 free on Friday and won the 100 fly and 100 back on Saturday. On Sunday, she also won the 200 fly, clocking 2:08.18.<\/p>\n
Kingfish\u2019s Mollie Westrick<\/b> completed the sprint double with a 52.07 in the 100 free, lowering the pool record as she also did in Saturday\u2019s 50 free.<\/p>\n
In the 13-14 age group, Phoenix\u2019s Callie Breiter<\/b> earned wins in both the 200 free (1:56.50) and 100 free (54.41), as did Seacoast Seekonk\u2019s Gianna Spremullo<\/b> in the 200 fly (2:13.16) and 200 back (2:07.50). Bluefish\u2019s Will Bareo picked up both the the 13-14 200 free (1:43.63) and 200 fly (1:57.07) titles.<\/p>\n
Phoenix\u2019s Yungseo Jung<\/b> came out on top in the best race of the night, touching out Kingfish\u2019s Keda Song<\/b> by just one one-hundredth of a second in the senior 100 free, 48.42 to 48.43.<\/p>\n
Phoenix\u2019s Eric Shi<\/b> improved upon a second-place finish in the 200 breast on Saturday as he put on a show in the 100 breast. He clocked 59.63 as the only swimmer to break the 1:00-barrier. On the girls\u2019 side, two of Shi\u2019s teammates picked up wins, with Grace Walker<\/b> (1:08.74) in the 13-14 age group and Julia Rucker<\/b> (1:08.54) in the senior division.<\/p>\n
Phoenix\u2019s Joe Turk<\/b> rounded out the individual winners with a 200 back triumph. Turk touched the wall in 1:55.64.<\/p>\n
