Ikee turned in a final time of 54.14 to grab the gold.\u00a0<strong>Miki Uchida<\/strong> finished close behind with a time of 54.24, while Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> grabbed third with a time of 54.39.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Melanie Wright<\/strong> finished fourth overall with a final time of 54.63.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Natalie Coughlin<\/strong> of the USA kept it close for fifth and sixth. Lee got her hand on the wall .02 seconds ahead of Coughlin to finish fifth with a time of 55.09 over Coughlin&#8217;s 55.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomomi Aoki<\/strong> was seventh overall with a time of 55.48, while\u00a0<strong>Misaki Yamaguchi<\/strong> took eighth with a 56.07.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yuuki Kobori<\/strong> turned in a swift 1:47.59 to finish ahead of the competition in the men&#8217;s 200-meter free, shaving 1.83 seconds off his prelims time of 1:49.42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reo Sakata\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 1:48.24, while\u00a0<strong>Naito Ehara<\/strong> delivered a close third place finish with a 1:48.71.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ewan Jackson\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth overall with a time of 1:49.41.\u00a0<strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong> of the USA finished close behind with a time of 1:49.57 for fifth place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Takeshi Matsuda<\/strong> took sixth with a time of 1:49.96.\u00a0<strong>Naoya Tsuruga<\/strong> (1:50.15) and\u00a0<strong>Alex Graham<\/strong>\u00a0(1:50.35) of Australia were seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Molly Hannis<\/strong> of the USA claimed gold in the women&#8217;s 50 breaststroke with a 30.63, shaving .30 seconds off her prelims time of 30.93. Hannis&#8217; time also moves her into the top ten rankings for 2015 in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> delivered a close second with a time of 30.79, shedding time from her prelims time of 30.86. Atkinson&#8217;s best for 2015 currently sits at a 30.11 which she posted at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leiston Pickett<\/strong>\u00a0rounded out the top three with a time of 30.88, making her the only other athlete under the 31-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jennie Johansson\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a time of 31.04, while\u00a0<strong>Satomi Suzuki<\/strong> grabbed fifth with a time of 31.55.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth place went to Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessica Hansen<\/strong> who stopped the clock at 31.80.\u00a0<strong>Laura Sogar<\/strong> of the USA finished seventh with a time of 32.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Misaki Sekiguchi\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a time of 32.15.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cameron van der Burgh\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa posted the top time in the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke, stopping the clock at a quick 59.97. While van der Burgh shaved time off his prelims time of 1:01.47, his best for 2015 stands at a 58.49 from Kazan.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jake Packard<\/strong> finished second with a time of 1:00.92, improving upon his prelims time of 1:01.44.\u00a0<strong>Yoshiko Yamanaka\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a 1:01.29.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA finished fourth overall with a time of 1:01.35, while\u00a0<strong>Takatoshi Ikeshita<\/strong> was a close fifth at 1:01.49.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yuuta Oshikiri<\/strong> took sixth with a time of 1:01.52.\u00a0<strong>Hayato Watanabe<\/strong>\u00a0finished close behind with a time of 1:01.59 for seventh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kazuki Hayashi\u00a0<\/strong>finished eighth overall with a time of 1:02.04.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The top three finishers in the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly kept it close posting times a slim .06 seconds apart. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Christopher Wright<\/strong>\u00a0got his hand on the wall first stopping the clock at 52.77.\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto\u00a0<\/strong>finished second with a time of 52.82, while\u00a0<strong>Tom Shields<\/strong> of the USA was a close third at 52.83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Masato Sakai<\/strong> finished fourth overall with a time of 52.90, improving upon his prelims time of 53.61 by .71 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> took fifth in the event with a time of 53.17, while sixth went to\u00a0<strong>Yuuki Kobori<\/strong> and his time of 53.22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Masayuki Umemoto\u00a0<\/strong>(53.37) and\u00a0<strong>Nikolay Skvortsov<\/strong> (53.38) of Russia finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong>\u00a0of Australia continued to demonstrate her backstroke prowess by adding a win of 58.37 in the 100-meter back to her collection. With this win Seebohm completes a sweep of the backstroke events at the Tokyo stop of the 2015 FINA World Cup. Seebohm&#8217;s time is also only a slim .11 seconds off her 2015 world best of 58.26 from Kazan.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 1:00.01, shaving 1.86 seconds off her prelims time of 1:01.87.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miyuki Takemura<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 1:01.15. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Belinda Hocking<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed a close fourth with a final time of 1:01.23.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emi Moronuki<\/strong> stopped the clock at 1:01.44 to narrowly edge out\u00a0<strong>Masumi Takaba<\/strong>. Takaba finished with a time of 1:01.46 for sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh went to\u00a0<strong>Miki Takahashi<\/strong> and her time of 1:01.91, while\u00a0<strong>Yuka Kawayoke\u00a0<\/strong>completed the top eight with a time of 1:02.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 50 Back<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Australians and Americans battled for the win in the men&#8217;s 50 back with each claiming two of the top four spots.\u00a0<strong>David Plummer<\/strong> of the USA edged out Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Larkin<\/strong> by a slim .04 seconds for first. Plummer stopped the clock at 24.58, just ahead of Larkin&#8217;s 24.62. Plummer and Larkin were the only two athletes under the 25-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> grabbed the bronze with a time of 25.30, while\u00a0<strong>Josh Beaver<\/strong> of Australia turned in a time of 25.55 for fourth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junya Hasegawa\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth in the event with a 25.59, a slim .03 seconds ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashley Delaney<\/strong> and his time of 25.62.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Syunichi Nakao<\/strong> took seventh with a 25.81, and Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> was a close eighth at 25.85.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Natsumi Hoshi<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary battled for first in the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly finishing only .76 seconds apart. Hoshi maintained her first place seed by stopping the clock at 2:08.13 over Jakabos&#8217; 2:08.89. While Hoshi shaved time off her prelims time of 2:10.35, she was slightly off her 2015 world best of 2:05.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Haruno Itou<\/strong> finished third in the event with a time of 2:10.29, while\u00a0<strong>Kona Fujita<\/strong> delivered a close fourth with a time of 2:10.66.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth place went to\u00a0<strong>Ayana Miwa<\/strong> and her time of 2:10.92, while\u00a0<strong>Kate Mills<\/strong> of the USA took sixth with a time of 2:11.31.<\/p>\n<p>USA Teammate\u00a0<strong>Caitlin\u00a0Levering\u00a0<\/strong>finished seventh in the event with a final time of 2:12.43, while <b>Aine Matsushita<\/b> rounded out the top three with a time of 2:!2.58.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hiromasa Fujimori<\/strong> finished first in the men&#8217;s 200-meter individual medley with a time of 1:59.76 and was the only athlete under the 2-minute mark. While he bettered upon his prelims time of 2:02.15, Fujimori&#8217;s best time in 2015 is a 1:58.14 that he posted at the Japan National Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keita Sunama<\/strong> of Japan turned in a final time of 2:00.75 to finish second in the event, bettering on his prelims time of 2:02.47. Earlier this year Sunama posted a time of 1:58.45 to tie him for nineteenth in the 2015 world rankings with\u00a0<strong>Daniel Wallace<\/strong> of Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ippei Watanabe<\/strong> claimed the bronze with a time of 2:01.88, while\u00a0<strong>Ryo Murakawa\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed fourth with a time of 2:02.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travis Mahoney<\/strong> of Australia was a close fifth, stopping the clock at 2:02.14, the exact time he stopped it at in prelims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Takahiro Tutumi\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.33) and\u00a0<strong>Hiroya Yamada<\/strong> (2:02.47) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary claimed gold in the women&#8217;s 400-meter free with a final time of 4:08.87.\u00a0<strong>Chihiro Igarashi<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 4:10.65, while Australia&#8217;s <b>Leah Neale<\/b> delivered a time of 4:11.12 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth went to\u00a0China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chen Yuxi<\/strong> and her time of 4:13.85.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asami Chida<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Aya Takano<\/strong> battled for fifth, but it was Chida who got her hand to the wall first stopping the clock at 4:14.38 over Takano&#8217;s 4:14.65.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh went to\u00a0<strong>Wakaba Tsuyuuchi<\/strong> and her time of 4:15.99, while\u00a0<strong>Yasuo Miyamoto<\/strong> settled for eighth and a time of 4:17.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 50 Free<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Katsumi Nakamura<\/strong> finished first in the men&#8217;s 50-meter free posting a final time of 22.15. Nakamura&#8217;s 2015 world best currently stands as a 21.90 from the Mare Nostrum-Monte Carlo stop.<\/p>\n<p>Second went to\u00a0<strong>Shinri Shioura<\/strong> who stopped the clock at 22.40, just ahead of the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anthony Ervin<\/strong> who finished third with a time of 22.56. Ervin also currently sits in the top 20 of the 2015 world fastest times after posting a 22.02 at the World Championships in Kazan.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow USA team member\u00a0<strong>Will Copeland<\/strong> finished fourth in the event with a time of 22.57, while Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Blake Jones<\/strong> and New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Hunter\u00a0<\/strong>battled for fifth. Jones got his hand to the wall .04 seconds ahead of Hunter to stop the clock at 22.74. Hunter finished sixth with a time of 22.78.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jamie Sturgeon\u00a0<\/strong>finished seventh in the event with a time of 23.04, and eighth went to\u00a0<strong>Wu Chun-Feng<\/strong> and his time of 23.09.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 200 Breast<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rie Kaneto\u00a0<\/strong>delivered a first-place finish in the women&#8217;s 200-meter breaststroke posting a finishing time of 2:23.01. Kaneto currently sits at fourth in the world rankings for 2015 after posting a time of 2:21.90 at the Japanese National Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kanako Watanabe<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 2:23.43, improving upon her time of 2:26.00 from prelims. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kierra Smith<\/strong> grabbed the bronze with a time of 2:24.51.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Runa Imai<\/strong>\u00a0was fourth in the event with a time of 2:24.69, and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Taylor McKeown<\/strong> took fifth with a time of 2:25.93.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laura Sogar<\/strong> of the USA bettered her prelims time of 2:27.90 by posting a final time of 2:26.26.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sae Saitou<\/strong> (2:27.26) and\u00a0<strong>Reona Aoki<\/strong> (2:29.07) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitchell Larkin<\/strong> of Australia succeeded in lowering his own world best time in the men&#8217;s 200 back during day two finals of the Tokyo stop of the 2015 FINA World Cup. Larkin stopped the clock at 1:53.34 bettering his 2015 world best by .24 seconds. Larkin&#8217;s previous time (1:53.58) was set at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryosuke Irie<\/strong> finished second, still a full two and a half seconds ahead of the crowd, with a time of 1:56.00. Irie was not too far off his 2015 world best of 1:54.62 which he posted earlier this year at the BHP Super Series in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Masaki Kaneko<\/strong> delivered a time of 1:58.65 for third, bettering upon his prelims time of 2:02.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hayate Matsubara\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed fourth and became the only other athlete in the event to finish under the 2-minute mark by stopping the clock at 1:59.03.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kazuki Watanabe<\/strong> posted a final time of 2:00.57 for fifth, while Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashley Delaney<\/strong> turned in a 2:01.78 for sixth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yuuma Edo<\/strong> (2:02.78) and\u00a0<strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> (2:03.20) of Singapore finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rikako Ikee\u00a0<\/strong>claimed a narrow victory in the women&#8217;s 50-meter fly posting a final time of 26.17. Ikee&#8217;s time not only earned her first but ties her for twentieth in the world rankings for 2015 and lowers the World Junior mark from it&#8217;s previous 26.26 set in 2014 by Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rozaliya Nasretdinova.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Miki Uchida<\/strong> posted a final time of 26.23 to finish second in the event, bettering upon her prelims time of 26.85. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessica Hobbin<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 26.83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomoya Fukuda<\/strong> grabbed fourth with a time of 26.94, while fifth went to\u00a0<strong>Rino Hosoda<\/strong> and her time of 27.30. France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Santamans<\/strong> was a close sixth, stopping the clock at the 27.32 mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong> of the USA took seventh overall with a time of 27.41, and eighth went to\u00a0<strong>Asuka Kobayashi<\/strong> and her 27.58.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 1500 Free<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ayatsugu Hirai<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Syogo Takeda\u00a0<\/strong>battled to the finish in the men&#8217;s 1500-meter free, stopping the clock a slim .37 seconds apart. Hirai got his hand to the wall first to claim the gold with a time of 15:16.39. Takeda was second with a time of 15:16.76.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yousuke Miyamoto<\/strong> finished third in the event with a time of 15:20.69, a full five seconds ahead of the fourth-place finisher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Youhei Takiguchi<\/strong> was fourth overall stopping the clock at the 15:25.71 mark, while\u00a0<strong>Shingo Nakaya<\/strong> took fifth in the event with a time of 15:27.73.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Atsuya Yoshida<\/strong>\u00a0claimed sixth with a time of 15:32.07, and\u00a0<strong>Kouhei Yamamoto\u00a0<\/strong>was seventh with a 15:35.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taketomo Tani<\/strong> rounded out the top eight with a time of 15:41.70.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s 400-meter IM proved to be one of the top races of the night with\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu, Miho Takahashi, <\/strong>and<strong> Miyu Ohtsuka\u00a0<\/strong>each holding the lead at some point in the race. Hosszu won out in the end, stopping the clock at 4:37.26.<\/p>\n<p>Takahashi finished second overall with a time of 4:38.83.\u00a0<strong>Sakiko Shimizu\u00a0<\/strong>shifted between third and second for the majority of the race before claiming the bronze with a time of 4:39.85.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caitlin\u00a0<\/strong><b>Leverenz\u00a0<\/b>of the USA posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:40.81, while\u00a0<strong>Miyu Ohtsuka\u00a0<\/strong>dropped back to fifth after leading the race for the first 150 meters.
