O'Toole Bolsters U.S. Offense in 11-9 Win Over World Champion Holland U.S. Cruising Into Championship Game on Sunday<\/p>\n
Once-retired Maureen O'Toole buried three goals against Holland on Saturday in Team USA's 11-9 win over the reigning world champions. Her three led a balanced scoring attack, with seven stars-and-stripers cracking the score column.
\n The U.S. clinched its berth in the championship game on Sunday with a 13-2 dismantling of Kazakhstan last night.
\n Coach Guy Baker and company again made the most of their man-advantage opportunities, converting on five of seven chances. For the tournament, USA leads the pack far and away, with a percentage of .643 in the category.
\n Coralie Simmons added to her tournament-leading goal total with two on the day. She now has 13 to her credit.
\n Holland was never within two goals after O'Toole's second goal in the third quarter, which put the U.S. up, 8-6.
\n Netherlands two-meter machine, Karen Kuipers, scored two goals, both on
\npenalty shots. Ingrid Leijendekker went home with three goals under her cap.<\/p>\n
Normally, a three-goal fourth quarter puts you back in a game that you'd been trailing in. Unless, of course, you're Kazakhstan, and you trailed 7-2 heading into the quarter.
\n Last place Kazakhstan's three goals in the fourth didn't help them against Australia. The Aussies managed two of their own in the last frame and
\nwon, 9-4.
\n Australia's Yvette Higgins continued her hot shooting, knocking down three goals on the day, including a penalty shot in the second period to give
\nher squad a 4-1 lead.
\n Higgins was one of seven Aussies to get in the score column. Kazakhstan keeper Svetlana Buravova had eight saves in the loss.<\/p>\n

Canada, who will play the U.S. for the tournament championship tomorrow at 7:00 p.m., defeated Russia, 8-6 in the final day of pool play in the Holiday Cup.
\n Canada outscored Russia, 3-0, in the final quarter of play to secure the win.
