Schedule of Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Men’s 100 Free<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The first event of the night kicked off with the top three finishers posting times within .62 seconds of one another. Katsumi Nakamura\u00a0<\/b>finished first with a time of 49.17, while\u00a0Shinri Shioura<\/strong> posted a time of 49.33 to finish close behind. Australia’s\u00a0Blake Jones<\/strong>\u00a0finished third with a time of 49.79.<\/p>\n Reo Sakata\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth with a 49.87, while Australia’s\u00a0Jamie Sturgeon<\/strong> posted a 50.06 to earn fifth.<\/p>\n Yuuki Kobori<\/strong> grabbed sixth with a time of 50.08.\u00a0Nagoya Tsuruga<\/strong>\u00a0(50.23) and Australia’s\u00a0Alex Graham<\/strong> (50.32) were seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 Free<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Zsuzsanna Jakabos,\u00a0<\/strong>both of Hungary, finished 1-2 in the women’s 200 free during finals. Hosszu turned in a swift 1:56.67 to grab gold, while Jakabos posted a final time of 1:58.11 for second.<\/p>\n Leah Neale\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia grabbed a close third\u00a0with a time of 1:58.21, shaving two seconds off her prelims time of 2:00.28.<\/p>\n Sachi Mochida<\/strong> finished fourth overall with a time of 2:00.18, and was followed closely to the wall by\u00a0Chihiro Igarashi<\/strong> and her time of 2:00.45.<\/p>\n Tomomi Aoki<\/strong> and\u00a0Aya Takano<\/strong>\u00a0both turned in a final time of 2:00.62 to tie for sixth.\u00a0Yasuko Miyamoto\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a time of 2:00.99.<\/p>\n Men’s 50 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n South Africa’s\u00a0Cameron Van Der Burgh<\/strong> held onto first in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke turning in a sizzling final time of 27.18 to finish .75 seconds ahead of the competition. Fellow South African Giulio Zorzi<\/b> finished second with a time of 27.93 to be the only other swimmer under the 28-second mark.<\/p>\n Ryouta Nomura<\/strong>\u00a0was third in the event with a time of 28.04, adding .02 seconds to his prelims time of 28.02. Australia’s\u00a0Jake Packard<\/strong> claimed a close fourth with a time of 28.11.<\/p>\n Renata Prono<\/strong>\u00a0of Paraguay out-touched\u00a0Michael Andrew<\/strong> of the USA by .01 for fifth. Prono posted a time of 28.19 over Andrew’s 28.20.<\/p>\n USA’s\u00a0Chuck Katis<\/strong> finished close behind Andrew with a time of 28.23, adding slightly to his prelims time of 27.98.\u00a0Masaki Niiyama\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top eight with a time of 28.44.<\/p>\n Women’s 100 Breast<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Molly Hannis<\/strong> of the USA grabbed a narrow win over Japan’s\u00a0Runa Imai<\/strong> in the women’s 100 breast. Hannis posted a final time of 1:07.71 over Imai’s 1:07.87. Australia’s\u00a0Leiston Pickett\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a time of 1:07.96.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Taylor McKeown<\/strong> finished fourth overall with a time of 1:08.01, while\u00a0Satomi Suzuki<\/strong> was a close fifth touching the wall at the 1:08.07 mark.<\/p>\n Kierra Smith<\/strong> of Canada finished sixth with a time of 1:08.30 over\u00a0Laura Sogar<\/strong> of the USA’s 1:08.43. Eighth place went to\u00a0Reona Aoki<\/strong> and her time of 1:08.94.<\/p>\n Women’s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The young\u00a0Rikako Ikee<\/strong> turned in a sizzling 57.56 to win the women’s 100 meter fly during finals. Ikee’s time also lowers the World Junior record of 57.63 set earlier this summer by\u00a0Chen Xinyi<\/strong> at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan.<\/p>\n Felicia Lee<\/strong> of the USA grabbed second with a time of 59.15, while\u00a0Natsumi Hoshi<\/strong> turned in a 59.28 to finish third in the event.<\/p>\n Kate Mills<\/strong> of the USA finished fourth overall with a time of 59.94 over Australia’s\u00a0Jessica Hobbin<\/strong> who turned in a time of 1:00.19 for fifth.<\/p>\n Yai Watanabe<\/strong> posted a final time of 1:00.64 to narrowly finish ahead of\u00a0Inoha Yamakawa\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 1:00.65.<\/p>\n Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary was\u00a0eighth with a time of 1:01.62.<\/p>\n Men’s 100 Back<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Mitchell Larkin<\/strong> of Australia maintained his hold on first in the men’s 100 meter back with a sizzling final time of 52.48. Larkin’s time is only .10 seconds off his 2015 best of 52.38 from the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan where he posted a 52.38, a time that is also the fastest in the world for 2015.<\/p>\n Ryosuke Irie<\/strong> posted a final time of 53.27 for second, while\u00a0David Plummer<\/strong> of the USA was a close third at 53.39.<\/p>\n Japan’s\u00a0Masaki Kaneko<\/strong> grabbed fourth overall with a time of 54.18 over Australia’s\u00a0Ashley Delaney<\/strong> and his final time of 54.41.<\/p>\n Junya Hasegawa<\/strong> finished sixth overall with a time of 54.57.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Josh Beaver<\/strong> (55.06) and\u00a0Yuuma Edo<\/strong> (55.91) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Women’s 50 Back<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Emily Seebohm<\/strong> secured a win in the women’s 50-meter back stopping the clock at 27.49, a slim .02 seconds off her 2015 best of 27.47 from the Australian Championships.<\/p>\n Natalie Coughlin<\/strong> of the USA finished second overall with a time of 28.25, shaving .19 seconds off her prelims time of 28.44.<\/p>\n Miyuki Takemura<\/strong> finished third overall with time of 28.33, while Japan’s\u00a0Emi Moronuki<\/strong> grabbed fourth with a time of 28.41. Katinka Hosszu<\/b> of Hungary was a close fifth, posting a final time of 28.42.<\/p>\n Shiho Sakai<\/strong> and\u00a0Masumi Takaba<\/strong> kept it close for sixth and seventh, but Sakai got her hand to the wall first finishing with a time of 28.70 over Takaba’s 28.75.<\/p>\n Ema Kobayashi<\/strong> was eighth with a time of 29.14.<\/p>\n Men’s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Masato Sakai<\/strong> finished first in the men’s 200 fly with a time of 1:55.75, shaving 2.49 seconds off his prelims time of 1:58.24. Sakai’s time ties him for eighteenth in the world rankings for 2015 with\u00a0Tom Shields\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA.<\/p>\n Nao Horomura<\/strong> turned in a time of 1:56.17 for second place, shaving just over a second from his prelims time of 1:57.24.<\/p>\n Yuuya Yajima<\/strong> grabbed third overall with a time of 1:57.55, while\u00a0Mizuki Itou<\/strong> finished fourth with a time of 1:57.81.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Christopher Wright\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a time of 1:57.87, improving upon his prelims time of 1:58.56 by .69 seconds.<\/p>\n Russia’s\u00a0Nikolay Skvortsov<\/strong> (1:58.46),\u00a0Ryosuke Iai<\/strong> (1:59.65) and\u00a0Yuusuke Miyoshi<\/strong> (2:00.93) rounded out the top eight finishers.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 IM<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Hungary’s\u00a0Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> turned in a quick 2:09.85 in the women’s 200-meter IM, shaving almost two seconds off her prelims time of 2:11.81. Hosszu’s time ranks in the top 5 times for 2015 in the world.<\/p>\n Caitlin Leverenz<\/b> of the USA finished second with a final time of 2:11.26, while Japan’s\u00a0Runa Imai<\/strong> posted a close third with a time of 2:11.45. Imai’s time moves her into the top 20 in the world rankings for 2015.<\/p>\n Rika Ohmoto<\/strong>\u00a0posted a time of 2:12.72 for fourth, adding slightly to her 2015 best of 2:12.05.<\/p>\n Miyu Ohtsuka<\/strong> finished fifth with a time of 2:13.20, while Australia’s\u00a0Taylor McKeown<\/strong> was a close sixth at 2:13.45.<\/p>\n Yui Ohhashi<\/strong> (2:15.25) and\u00a0Miho Takahashi<\/strong> (2:15.49) were seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Men’s 400 Free<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Yousuke Miyamoto\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a final time of 3:49.68 to finish first in the men’s 400-meter free during finals of day one. Naito Ehara<\/b> grabbed second with a time of 3:50.77, while\u00a0Zane Grothe<\/strong> of the USA posted a final time of 3:51.75.<\/p>\n Yuuki Kobori<\/strong> finished fourth overall with a time of 3:52.14, while\u00a0Ryuta Osaki<\/strong> posted a close fifth with a time of 3:52.43.<\/p>\n Tsubasa Amai<\/strong>\u00a0was sixth with a time of 3:55.71, while\u00a0Noritaka Ohba<\/strong> grabbed a close seventh with a time of 3:55.80.<\/p>\n Fuyu Yoshida<\/strong> was eighth with a time of 3:54.16.<\/p>\n Women’s 50 Free<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Melanie Wright<\/strong> of Australia and\u00a0Miki Uchida\u00a0<\/strong>kept it close in the women’s 50 free, posting final times only .03 seconds apart. Wright got her hand on the wall first, stopping the clock at 24.92, while Uchida finished with a time of 24.95.<\/p>\n Rikako Ikee<\/strong> finished third overall with a time of 25.05.\u00a0Anna Santamans<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed fourth overall with a time of 25.14.<\/p>\n Fifth place went to Russia’s\u00a0Elizaveta Bazarova\u00a0<\/strong>who turned in a time of 25.43.\u00a0Natalie Coughlin<\/strong> of the USA was close behind, stopping the clock at 25.44 to finish seventh overall.<\/p>\n Aya Satou<\/strong> (25.63) and\u00a0Sayuki Ouchi<\/strong> (25.96) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Men’s 200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Yukihiro Takahashi\u00a0<\/strong>finished first in the men’s 200-meter breaststroke with a swift 2:09.50, shaving an impressive 2.73 seconds off his prelims time of 2:12.23. Takahashi’s time earns him a spot in the top twenty of the world rankings for 2015.<\/p>\n Ippei Watanabe<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed second in the event with a time of 2:09.94 adding slightly to his 2015 best of 2:09.75.<\/p>\n Oleg Kostin\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third with a time of 2:10.92, while\u00a0Yuuta Oshikiri\u00a0<\/strong>touched fourth with a time of 2:12.39.<\/p>\n Kazuki Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kazuki Ohtsuka<\/strong>\u00a0kept it close finishing .33 seconds apart.
