The men of the University of Southern California took down the CSU-Bakersfield men at home, 192-95, while the Trojan women beat Oregon State 164-90.<\/p>\n

Senior\u00a0Morten Klarskov, junior\u00a0Michael Domagala, sophomore\u00a0Pawel Furtek\u00a0and freshmen\u00a0Kyle Grissom,\u00a0Allie Wooden,\u00a0Destiny Nelson\u00a0and\u00a0Riley Scott\u00a0all won two races apiece as the USC men\u2019s swimming and diving team defeated Cal State Bakersfield, 192-95, and the women\u2019s team defeated Oregon State, 164-90, on Friday (Oct. 23) at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.<\/p>\n

The Trojan men improve to 4-0 while the women move to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the Pac-12.<\/p>\n

USC\u2019s women\u2019s team opened the racing as sophomore\u00a0Hannah Weiss, freshmen Scott and\u00a0Lily Dubroff\u00a0and junior Anika Apostalon won the 200y medley relay in 1:42.00. The men\u2019s squad of senior\u00a0Jeff Swanston, Klarskov, Domagala and\u00a0Kyle Grissom\u00a0win in 1:30.86.<\/p>\n

Oregon State\u2019s Sammy Harrison won the first individual race, claiming the 1000y free in 10:05.96 with Trojan freshman\u00a0Elizabeth Stinson\u00a0second (10:08.47). Furtek ran away with the men\u2019s race, winning in 9:08.60 with more than a 30-second margin over second.<\/p>\n

Wooden (1:49.17) out-touched junior teammate\u00a0Chelsea Chenault\u00a0(1:49.54) to win the 200y free. Junior\u00a0Reed Malone\u00a0captured the men\u2019s race in 1:38.85 with freshman\u00a0Cash DeLoache\u00a0second (1:44.26).<\/p>\n

Weiss claimed the 100y back in 54.17, 0.03 off her NCAA \u2018B\u2019 last week, with freshman\u00a0Hanni Leach\u00a0taking second (55.81) in her first race in the event this year. Sophomore\u00a0Jon Knox\u00a0won the men\u2019s 100y back in 50.37 with Swanston second (50.71).<\/p>\n

Scott (1:03.08), fellow freshman\u00a0Kirsten Vose\u00a0(1:03.78) and junior\u00a0Kelsey Kafka\u00a0(1:04.01) went 1-2-3 in the women\u2019s breast. The men\u2019s team turned in a sweep as well with Klarskov (55.65), junior\u00a0Steven Stumph\u00a0(57.40) and sophomore\u00a0Jonah Hu\u00a0(57.78).<\/p>\n

Freshmen\u00a0Madison Wright\u00a0(2:01.01) and\u00a0Sydney Lofquist\u00a0(2:07.02) turned in a 1-2 finish in the 200y fly while Domagala (1:48.29) and senior\u00a0Ted Singley\u00a0(1:50.51) did the same in the men\u2019s race.<\/p>\n

Apostalon won the women\u2019s 50y free in 23.34, winning with more than a second cushion, and Grissom raced to the men\u2019s win in 20.85.<\/p>\n

Senior\u00a0Collin Pollard\u00a0won the men\u2019s 1-meter (365.18) while senior\u00a0Deon Reid\u00a0finished first on 3-meter (387.23), edging Pollard\u2019s 385.65.<\/p>\n

Following the diving break, Wooden won her second race of the day, taking the 100y free from lane 2 in 50.83, leading a sweep as juniors\u00a0Evan Swenson\u00a0(51.60) and Chenault (51.74) took second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n

Freshmen Wooden (50.83) and Grissom (45.93) each led 1-2-3 sweeps in the 100y free, both posting their second wins of the meet.<\/p>\n

Freshman\u00a0Destiny Nelson\u00a0won the women\u2019s 200y back in 1:59.88 with Leach second in 2:01.82. Klarskov earned his second win with a 1:49.35 in the men\u2019s race with Knox closing in second (1:50.51).<\/p>\n

Scott repeated as a winner by taking the 200y breast in 2:15.00 (0.17 off her NCAA B cut) with junior\u00a0Brianna Weinstein\u00a0second in 2:20.33. Hu claimed the 200y breast (2:04.31) with Stumph second (2:07.05).<\/p>\n

Oregon State\u2019s Harrison won the 500y free (4:56.46) for her second win with USC\u2019s\u00a0Nikki Chang\u00a0second (5:01.68). Furtek touched first in the men\u2019s race in 4:33.06 with Singley at 4:35.63.<\/p>\n

Dubroff took the women\u2019s 100y fly in 56.29, just ahead of Wright\u2019s 56.79 with senior\u00a0Lucy Worrall\u00a0third (57.27). Domagala doubled up with a win in the men\u2019s race in 48.56. Senior\u00a0Maclin Davis\u00a0was second (49.96).<\/p>\n

Nelson became the fourth Trojan freshman to win two races, capturing the 200y IM in 2:02.95. Freshman\u00a0Walker Bell\u00a0won the men\u2019s 400y IM in 4:07.04.<\/p>\n

Swenson, Chenault, Wooden and Apostalon won the women\u2019s 200y free relay in 1:33.19 while Domagala, Malone, Klarskov and\u00a0David Morgan Jr.won the men\u2019s race in 1:23.36.<\/p>\n

Senior Sammy Harrison posted her best times of the season to earn victories in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events, but the Oregon State swimming team fell in a Pac-12 dual meet to the USC Trojans, 164-90, on Friday at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.<\/p>\n

Harrison swam the fourth-fastest 1,000-yard freestyle time in Oregon State history, finishing first in the event with a time of 10:05.96. The Henderson, Nev. native set the program record with a time of 9:35.36 last season.<\/p>\n

Harrison continued a strong outing with a victory in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall first with a time of 4:56.46 for a margin of victory over five seconds. Her 500 freestyle time on Friday was the ninth-best in school history.<\/p>\n

Junior Sophie MacEwan was Oregon State\u2019s next-highest finisher, placing second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.43. Junior Czsarina Isleta continued her solid 2015-16 campaign with a third-place finish and time of 2:21.12 in the 200 breaststroke.<\/p>\n

Rounding out Oregon State\u2019s top performers were senior Constance Toulemonde, who placed third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.85, as well as freshman Megan Lam, who placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.13.<\/p>\n

The Oregon State swimming team returns to action Saturday for a meet at UCLA. The Beavers will compete in a meet against the Bruins and UC-Santa Barbara at noon PT.<\/p>\n

Following action this weekend, Oregon State will take a week off before returning to action against Pacific and Fresno State on Saturday, Nov. 7. The meet from Stockton, Calif. is set to begin at 11 a.m. PT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
