Stanford’s dominance was on display in several events, as the Cardinal went 1-2-3 in four women’s events and four men’s events.

On the women’s side, the sweeps happened in the 200 free, 100 back, 50 free and 200 IM, and Grace Carlson was part of all three. The 200 free was led by a 1:48.49 from Carlson, with Lia Neal falling to second with a 1:48.51 after leading through 150 yards. Julia Anderson completed the sweep with a 1:53.55.

Carlson found herself in the runner-up position in the 50 free, as her 23.68 wasn’t enough to overcome the 23.12 from teammate Julia Ama. Jaynie Pulte finished third with a 23.89. Williamson was leading by a full second at the 450-yard mark, but Kiraly uncorked a 25.55 in the final 50 yards to fly past Williamson and win with a 4:25.76 to Williamson’s 4:26.60. Kiraly used the same tactic to win the 1000 free earlier in the meet, putting up a 51.69 in the final 100 yards to take down Danny Thomson with a 9:07.93 to Thomson’s 9:10.65.

Duggan won the 200 free with a 1:39.95, while Stanford freshman Matt Anderson scored his first dual meet win with a 2:02.38 in the 200 breast.

Utah managed a third win on the men’s side, as Paul Ungur won the 100 back with a 49.32.

On the women’s side, three women scored two individual event victories. Utah’s only win in the meet came in the 100 fly, which Stanford used as a non-scoring event. Petra Soininen took the first-place points with a 57.92, though Hu swam fastest in the race with a 53.45.
