GEORGI Parvanov, the President of Bulgaria, presented an award to Petar Stoychev, honoring the open-water swimmer for his world-record crossing of the English Channel. Stoychev recently crossed the Dover Strait in six hours, 57 minutes and 50 seconds. It broke the previous record by more than six minutes.
