For more information about Agon, visit their website <a href=http:\/\/www.agonswim.com target=_blank>Agonswim.com<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Rising distance swimmer <strong>Hannah Cox<\/strong> will make the journey from her native Vermont to the desert climate of Arizona next fall, making a verbal commitment to represent the University of Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Cox, who represents Upper Valley Aquatic Club, would be a part of the team\u2019s rapidly improving distance program under the direction of <strong>Steve Brown<\/strong>. Her specialties lie in the 200 and 500 freestyles, where she holds personal bests of 1:47.03 and 4:42.32. In the mile, she swam a best time of 16:39.72. All three times would score points at the Pac 12 championships.<\/p>\n<p>Cox was a part of this summer\u2019s junior world championship squad for Team USA. She was the bronze medalist in the 200 free with a 1:59.28 and placed fourth in the 400 free with a 4:08.69. Both times were personal bests. She didn\u2019t get to swim the 800 free at junior worlds, but would have placed just outside the top 10 with her best time of 8:45.97.<\/p>\n<p>Cox could also be a vital player in the individual medley events. She has Olympic Trials cuts in both IMs (2:16.25, 4:49.51), and her 4:11.66 in the 400-yard IM is impressive as well.<\/p>\n<p>Cox earned spots in the championship finals of the 200 free and 400 free at last summer\u2019s nationals.
