THE WOODLANDS, Texas, August 12. 888 \u2013 That's the number for the first three days of competition as eight Masters world records have fallen each day at the United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Long Course National Championships held in The Woodlands, Texas. After watching 16 world records posted the first two days, competitors recorded eight more today \u2013 one being a tie. Meanwhile, the USMS tally is up to 13 with four more standards set.<\/p>\n
Susan Walsh kept busy with two more world records in the women's 45-49 division. She set the 50 fly in 29.84 and the 100 back in 1:09.66. That gives her six throughout the course of the meet.<\/p>\n
The oldest world record falling actually came by way of a tie. Clarke Mitchell, who already lowered his 50 back USMS record earlier in the meet, matched Keijiro Nakamura's global standard of 1:26.00 set in the men's 75-79 division on July 20, 1998.<\/p>\n
