{"id":153961,"date":"2015-09-20T19:28:46","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T02:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=153961"},"modified":"2015-09-20T19:28:46","modified_gmt":"2015-09-21T02:28:46","slug":"caeleb-dressel-among-winners-at-final-day-of-all-florida-invite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-among-winners-at-final-day-of-all-florida-invite\/","title":{"rendered":"Caeleb Dressel Among Winners at Final Day of All-Florida Invite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Florida showed their dominance in the distance freestyle events during the final night of the All-Florida Invite.\u00a0<strong>Jessica Thielmann<\/strong> (16:47.09) and <strong>Autumn Finke\u00a0<\/strong>(16:47.61) posted a 1-2 in the women&#8217;s 1650-yard freestyle, while the Florida men dominated the top three on the men&#8217;s side.\u00a0<strong>Mitch D&#8217;Arrigo<\/strong> (15:31.83),\u00a0<strong>Ben Lawless<\/strong> (15:35.44), and\u00a0<strong>Arthur\u00a0<\/strong><b>Frayler\u00a0<\/b>(15:35.58) kept it close finishing only 3.75 seconds apart.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s dominance continued throughout the rest of the meet with individuals winning six of the eight remaining individual events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ashlee Linn<\/strong> (1:57.39),\u00a0<strong>Sydney Sell<\/strong> (1:59.49), and\u00a0<strong>Georgia-Mae Hohman<\/strong> (1:59.95) of Florida swept the top three spots in the women&#8217;s 200-meter back, while\u00a0<strong>Jack Blyzinskyj<\/strong> (1:45.81) and <b>Austin Manganiello<\/b> (1:48.91) were first and third on the men&#8217;s side.\u00a0<strong>Connor Kalisz<\/strong>\u00a0of Florida State took second with a time of 1:46.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>, the reigning NCAA champion in the 50 free, claimed a win in the men&#8217;s 100-yard free posting a swift 43.17.\u00a0<strong>Corey Main<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 43.94, while <strong>Thiago Sickert<\/strong> of Nova Southeastern was third with a 44.43.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s 100-yard free was won by Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Natalie Hinds<\/strong> who turned in a time of 49.76. Florida&#8217;s States\u00a0<strong>Alexis Smith\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 51.16, while\u00a0<strong>Julie Suarez\u00a0<\/strong>was a close third with a 51.34.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anton Lobanov<\/strong> claimed the men&#8217;s 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:01.05. Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Szaranek\u00a0<\/strong>(2:03.75) and\u00a0<strong>Ross Palazzo<\/strong> (2:05.76) grabbed second and third in the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paige Scheriger<\/strong> of Florida finished first in the women&#8217;s 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:17.18, while Towson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jenna Van Camp\u00a0<\/strong>was a close second finishing only .02 seconds behind with a time of 2:17.20.\u00a0<strong>Katie\u00a0<\/strong><b>Ermitage<\/b> of Florida Gulf Coast rounded out the top three with a time of 2:19.04.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pawel Werner<\/strong> (44.85), Dressel (43.23), Szaranek (44.64) and\u00a0<strong>Corey Main<\/strong> of Florida turned in a combined winning time of 2:56.28. Florida State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jason McCormick<\/strong>\u00a0(45.34),\u00a0<strong>Kanoa Kaleoaloha<\/strong> (45.31),\u00a0<strong>Jemal LeGrand<\/strong> (45.30) and\u00a0<strong>Emir Muratovic<\/strong> (44.82) finished second overall with a time of 3:00.77. Florida&#8217;s &#8216;B&#8217; relay finished third with a time of 3:02.48.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Florida won on both sides, while Florida State took second on both sides.
