Today during one of our stroke specific camps some of our top swimmers tried out one of the top Paralympic sports.<\/p>\n

Breaststroke swimmers including three-time World Champion Adam Peaty<\/strong>, Olympian Andrew Willis<\/strong> and Commonwealth Games medallist Molly Renshaw<\/strong> strapped into wheelchairs to try out Wheelchair Basketball.<\/p>\n

They performed a number of different drills including a relay before taking part in a game.<\/p>\n

The swimmers enjoyed trying a new sport during their camp and for Peaty is was a great team bonding session.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was good to work really closely with people that we don\u2019t normally train with,\u201d Peaty said. \u201cWe had to work hard together to score and it was nice to have that integration.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was pretty hard though. It\u2019s nice to have perspective on other sports and see how the skills differ. It was great to get out there and have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the Head Coach of the camp Mel Marshall it was a great chance for the athletes to learn new team work skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was something really different for the swimmers to try,\u201d Marshall said. \u201cI\u2019ve worked with Gordon [Perry] before and I think that it\u2019s an activity that they can get into easily and it\u2019s a fun challenge for them to break up the camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for team building and allows the swimmers to learn a little bit more about themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commonwealth medallist Molly Renshaw added: \u201cIt was hard to pick up the skills and it was tiring but we all had a great time. I think we all laughed and enjoyed ourselves but naturally the games became quite competitive.<\/p>\n
