Day two of the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa saw a large variety of athletes winning medals.<\/p>\n
Fu Kang Wong<\/strong> of Malaysia kicked off day two with a gold medal in the men’s 100-meter breaststroke. England’s\u00a0Edward Baxter<\/strong> grabbed second with a time of 1:03.72, while\u00a0James Greig Isemonger<\/strong> of South Africa rounded out the top three with a time of 1:04.03.<\/p>\n Layla Black<\/strong> of England posted a winning time of 1:10.06 in the women’s 100-meter breaststroke. Second in the event went to\u00a0Kaylene Corbett<\/strong> of South Africa and her time of 1:10.62. Scottland’s\u00a0Erin Robertson<\/strong>\u00a0was third with a time of 1:11.67.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Vincent Dai<\/strong> dashed to first in the men’s 100-meter free posting a winning time of 50.26. Scottland’s Craig McLean\u00a0<\/b>grabbed second overall with a finishing time of 50.96, while third went to\u00a0Lewis Clough<\/strong> of England who turned in a time of 50.98.<\/p>\n Lucy McJannett<\/strong>\u00a0of Australia led the women’s 100-meter free with a winning time of 55.34. South Africa’s\u00a0Erin Paige Gallagher<\/strong> turned in a time of 55.61 for second, while Australia’s\u00a0Shayna Jack<\/strong> was a close third with a final time of 55.67.<\/p>\n Clyde Lewis<\/strong> of Australia dominated the men’s 400-meter IM finishing 6.62 seconds ahead of the competition with a time of 4:20.87.\u00a0Joe Litchfiled<\/strong> of England finished second overall with a time of 4:27.49. South Africa’s\u00a0Neil Fair<\/strong> turned in a time of 4:28.54 for third.<\/p>\n The top three finishers in the women’s 400-meter IM kept it close with only a handful of seconds separating their finishing times.\u00a0Calypso Sheridan<\/strong> of Australia won the gold with a time of 4:49.38.\u00a0Rebecca Sutton<\/strong> of Wales took home the silver with a time of 4:51.52, while the bronze went to England’s\u00a0Tazmin Pugh<\/strong> and her time of 4:53.65.<\/p>\n Zane Waddell<\/strong> of South Africa sprinted to the top of the podium in the men’s 50-meter back posting a winning time of 25.94, making him the only athlete under the 26-second mark. Northern Ireland’s\u00a0Conor Ferguson<\/strong> took second overall with a time of 26.19, and New Zealand’s\u00a0Bayley Main<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 26.42.<\/p>\n The women’s 50-meter back was led by a New Zealand 1-2 finish.\u00a0Gabrielle Fa’Amousili<\/strong> turned in a time of 28.74 to grab gold for New Zealand and was the only athlete under the 29-second mark.
