Viktoria Zeynep Gunes<\/strong>\u00a0of Turkey continued to impress finishing first in the women’s 200-meter breast with a time of 2:24.47. Gunes finished close to the championship meet record of 2:23.12 set by\u00a0Viktoriya Solntseva<\/strong>\u00a0in 2013.<\/p>\n

Great Britain’s\u00a0Georgia Coates<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed the second place seed with a qualifying time of 2:26.42, dropping time from her seed time of 2:28.75.<\/p>\n

Mariia Astashkina<\/strong>\u00a0of Russia was a close third posting a finishing time of 2:26.59 from heat four.<\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]

Italy’s\u00a0Giulia Verona<\/strong>\u00a0finished fourth overall with a time of 2:27.25 from heat four, while Great Britain’s\u00a0Katie Matts<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed a close fifth from heat five with a time of 2:27.39.<\/p>\n

Japan’s\u00a0Runa Imai\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the sixth place seed with a final time of 2:27.86.<\/p>\n

Russia’s\u00a0Sofia Andreeva<\/strong>\u00a0turned in a finishing time of 2:28.03 for the seventh place seed, and Japan’s\u00a0Yukino Miyasaka\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth overall in a time of 2:30.39.<\/p>\n
