Olivia Anderson<\/strong>\u00a0of Canada topped the competition in the women’s 1500-meter free during prelims of day five of the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships. Anderson turned in a time of 16:37.03 to grab the current top ranking. The fourth and final heat of the event will kick off tonight’s finals session.<\/p>\n

Hungary’s\u00a0Janka Juhasz<\/strong>\u00a0turned in a finishing time of 16:38.31 to finish second overall in prelims, bettering on her seed time of 16:40.39.<\/p>\n

Tamila Holub<\/strong>\u00a0of Portugal grabbed third in prelims with a final time of 16:43.22, shaving 4.15 seconds off her seed time of 16:43.22.<\/p>\n

Australia’s\u00a0Mikayla Messer\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a time of 16:49.97, while Ireland’s\u00a0Antoinette\u00a0<\/strong>Neamt\u00a0<\/b>was fifth overall with a final time of 16:55.87.<\/p>\n

Mexico’s\u00a0Natalia Jaspeado<\/strong>\u00a0posted a final time of 17:01.60 for a sixth place finish, and Canada’s\u00a0Tessa Cieplucha\u00a0<\/strong>was close behind with a 17:03.13.<\/p>\n

Spain’s\u00a0Marina Castro\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top eight with a final time of 17:06.14.<\/p>\n
