Anton Chupkov<\/b>\u00a0of Russia dashed to first and a new championship meet record in the 200-meter breaststroke during prelims of day four at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships. Chupkov turned in a time of 2:10.73 to narrowly beat the former record of 2:10.75 set by Russia’s\u00a0Alexander Palatov<\/strong>\u00a0in 2013.<\/p>\n

Australia’s\u00a0Matthew Wilson<\/strong>\u00a0posted a finishing time of 2:12.36 from the same heat to grab second overall in prelims. Wilson succeeded in shaving .47 seconds off of his seed time of 2:12.83.<\/p>\n

Reece Whitley<\/strong>\u00a0of the USA rounds out the top three qualifiers with a final time of 2:12.98, adding slightly to his seed time of 2:11.30.<\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]

Japan’s\u00a0Ippei Miyamoto<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed the fourth place seed after posting a time of 2:13.27 from heat four.<\/p>\n

Fifth place overall in prelims went to Italy’s\u00a0Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong>\u00a0who posted a final time of 2:13.89.<\/p>\n

Chandler Bray<\/strong>\u00a0of the USA and\u00a0Charlie Attwood<\/strong>\u00a0of Great Britain kept it close in heat four, finishing .35 seconds apart. Bray got his hands on the wall first touching in 2:14.13 compared to Atwood’s 2:14.48.<\/p>\n

Christopher Rothbauer<\/strong>\u00a0of Austria was eighth overall in prelims with a final time of 2:15.34.<\/p>\n
