sizzling 25.14 earlier today in prelims, put up an easy speed 25.56 to make his way into finals tonight.

Andrew’s time this morning nearly eclipsed the World Junior record of 25.09 set by Evgeny Rylov at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Egypt’s Mohamed Samy qualified second into finals with a 25.61, while Canada’s finals at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.

Ruck raced her way to a 53.92 for the win, breaking her own meet mark of 53.95 from yesterday.

That swim moved her even closer to Shen Duo’s World Junior record of 53.84 set back at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. She also nearly cleared Shen as the top 18-and-under in the world this year.

18&Under World Rankings According to USA Swimming Stats

[table “” not found /]

Ruck teamed up with compatriot Penny Oleksiak (54.65) to give Canada a 1-2 punch in the finale, while Russia’s Arina Openysheva claimed bronze in 54.78.

Japan’s Rikako Ikee (54.82), Australia’s Shayna men’s 800-meter free at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.

Trailing Ernest Maksumov of Russia heading into the final 150 meters, Yang turned on the jets to take the win in 7:55.19.

Maksumov, swimming in the final heat of the timed final event, wound up fading to third in a time of 7:57.40 as Spain’s Cesar Castro actually managed to take second with a 7:57.21 from the earlier heats this morning.

Australia’s Joshua Parrish placed fourth in 7:57.43 with Brazil’s Brandonn Ruck turned in a winning time of 3:27.71. That swim broke the meet record of 3:28.74 set by Australia in 2013.

Although the official stats have Canada’s time as the World Junior record, it is slower than the unratified World Junior mark of 3:27.02 set by Li Guangyuan, Qiu Yuhan, Yu Hexin and Shen Duo at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Australia’s Jack Cartwright, Kyle Chalmers, Lucy Elizabeth McJannett and Shayna Jack took silver in 3:28.59.

Russia’s
