MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, July 20. SEVERAL other meet records fell during the third night of long course meter competition at the Minneapolis Speedo Sectional on Friday.<\/p>\n
Four meet standards went by the wayside on the women's side of the meet. Minnesota's Yuen Kobayashi lowered her 400 free record to 4:16.54, while Patriot Aquatics' Ashley Wanland, 17, knocked a second off Keri Hehn's meet record of 1:11.54 in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.28. <\/p>\n
In the 100 fly, Academy Bullets' Olivia Scott, 14, surpassed the 1:02.05 set by Katie Braun in 2005 with a time of 1:01.60, while Minnesota's foursome of Kobayashi, Christine Jennings, Erin Holtmeyer and Roxane Akradi chopped almost five seconds off the 8:30.37 set by Badger Aquatics in the 800 freestyle relay in 2003 when the Golden Gophers clocked an 8:25.84.<\/p>\n
Eric Nilsson of the Bluefish Swim Club picked off his second standard in as many nights with a time of 3:56.73 in the 400 free to take down his prelim time of 3:59.09, while Minnesota's quartet of Alex Wold, Tyler Schmidt, Steve Miller and Zach Wood downed the 800 free relay record of 7:44.31 set by the Gophers in 2001 with a time of 7:43.32.<\/p>\n
Other individual winners include Katie Wind of Minnesota in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.40, while David Plummer of Minnesota won the men's version in 2:06.70. Additionally, Sam Wilcher of the Arlington Alligators captured the 100 fly in 55.68.<\/p>\n
Finally, Jon Roberts of Minnesota smoked the men's 100 breaststroke in 1:01.46. The effort is among the top 20 times in the world this year and broke the meet record by three seconds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
