2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships: Live Results – Results<\/a><\/p>\nMEN’S 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\nMichael Andrew<\/strong> of the USA leads the competition going into tonight’s 200-meter IM after posting a quick 1:59.86 in prelims, making him the only swimmer under the two-minute mark. Andrew finished just shy of the championship meet record of 1:59.44 from 2013.<\/p>\nClyde Lewis<\/strong> of Australia finished second overall in prelims posting a time of 2:00.50 to earn his spot in finals tonight.<\/p>\nSpain’s\u00a0Hugo Gonzalez\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the third place seed with a finishing time of 2:01.88, adding slightly to his seed time of 2:01.50.<\/p>\nHungary’s\u00a0Daniel Sos\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the fourth-place seed finishing with a time of 2:01.19 from heat five.<\/p>\nSean Grieshop<\/strong> of the USA finished fifth in prelims with a time of 2:02.26, while Canada’s\u00a0Javier Acevedo\u00a0<\/strong>was a close sixth at 2:02.32.<\/p>\nGreat Britain’s\u00a0Martyn Walton<\/strong> (2:02.51) and Russia’s\u00a0Nikolai Sokolov<\/strong> (2:02.67) round out the top eight for tonight’s finals.<\/p>\nWOMEN’S 100 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\nTaylor Ruck<\/strong> of Canada leads the competition going into tonight’s finals with a 53.95, a new championship meet record. Ruck’s swift time replaces the former record of 54.47 set by Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> in 2013.<\/p>\nJapan’s\u00a0Rikako Ikee<\/strong> claimed the second-place seed with a swift time of 54.92, making Ikee and Ruck the only two athletes with a sub-55 time in prelims.<\/p>\nPenny Oleksiak\u00a0<\/strong>of Canada turned in a time of 55.07 to grab the third-place seed and a spot in the middle of the pool for tonight’s semi-finals.<\/p>\nRussia’s\u00a0Arina Openysheva<\/strong> posted a finishing time of 55.28 to grab the fourth-place seed, while\u00a0Stanzi Moseley\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA dashed to a 55.30 for the fifth-place seed.<\/p>\nAustralian teammates\u00a0Lucy Elizabeth McJannett\u00a0<\/strong>and Shayna Jack<\/b>\u00a0claimed sixth and seventh respectively. McJannett posted a final time of 55.31 from heat six, while Jack finished with a 55.48 from heat eight.<\/p>\nJapan’s\u00a0Sachi Mochida\u00a0<\/strong>rounds out the top eight with a time of 55.67.<\/p>\nUSA’s\u00a0Lauren Pitzer<\/strong> (55.85), China’s\u00a0Tang Yuting<\/strong> (55.95), Russia’s\u00a0Daria Mullakaeva<\/strong> (56.02), Hungary’s\u00a0Flora Molnar<\/strong>\u00a0(56.44) and\u00a0Bettina Boszormenyi<\/strong> (56.44), Great Britain’s\u00a0Georgia Coates<\/strong> (56.51), the Czech Republic’s (56.55), and Brazil’s\u00a0Gabrielle Roncatto<\/strong> (56.64) complete the top sixteen qualifiers for tonight’s semi-finals.<\/p>\nMEN’S 100 FLY<\/strong><\/p>\nDaniil Pakhomov<\/strong> of Russia dashed to a first-place seed in prelims of the men’s 100-meter fly posting a final time of 52.96. Pakhomov added slightly to his time of 52.13 so look for him to challenge the meet record of 52.52 during semi-finals tonight.<\/p>\nBrazil’s\u00a0Vinicius Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a 53.34 to finish second overall. Russia’s\u00a0Daniil\u00a0Antipov<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a qualifying time of 53.53 for tonight’s finals.<\/p>\nRyan Hoffer\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA turned in a 53.61 to grab the fourth-place seed, while Spain’s\u00a0Albert Lozano<\/strong>\u00a0and the USA’s\u00a0Michael Andrew<\/strong>\u00a0turned in close times for fifth and sixth respectively. WOMEN’S 800 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\nJanka Juhasz\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary currently leads the competition going into tonight’s finals of the women’s 800-meter free where the final heat of the event will take place. Juhasz turned in a sizzling time of 8:40.07 from heat five to claim the top spot.<\/p>\nDong Fuwei<\/strong> of China holds second overall with a finishing time of 8:41.85, dropping 9.79 seconds from her seed time of 8:51.64.<\/p>\nSpain’s\u00a0Laura Rodriguez<\/strong> turned in a sizzling 8:44.00 for third overall.
