{"id":151557,"date":"2015-08-21T18:41:40","date_gmt":"2015-08-22T01:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=151557"},"modified":"2015-08-21T18:41:40","modified_gmt":"2015-08-22T01:41:40","slug":"nicholas-dos-santos-scorches-50-fly-at-2015-jose-finkel-trophy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nicholas-dos-santos-scorches-50-fly-at-2015-jose-finkel-trophy\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicholas Dos Santos Scorches 50 Fly at 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nicholas Dos Santos<\/strong> unleashed a sizzling men&#8217;s 50-meter fly at the 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy meet.<\/p>\n<p>Dos Santos, already second in the world with a 22.90 at the Maria Lenk Trophy meet, blasted his way to a 23.00 for the win tonight. \u00a0Only top-ranked <strong>Florent Manaudou<\/strong> (22.84) has been faster this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Henrique De Souza<\/strong> took second in 23.54 with<strong> Marcelo Chierighini<\/strong> earning third in 23.77.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taylor McKeown<\/strong> kept rolling at the meet with another win, this time with a meet-record 2:13.25 in the women&#8217;s 200-meter IM.<\/p>\n<p>That swim eclipsed the 2:13.31 set by <strong>Joanna Maranhao<\/strong> back in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Maranhao took second tonight in 2:15.22 with <strong>Florencia Perotti<\/strong> earning third in 2:17.43.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leah Neale<\/strong> claimed another meet record with a 4:11.14 in the women&#8217;s 400-meter free.<\/p>\n<p>That swim cleared the 4:13.31 set by Maranhao back in 2009. \u00a0<strong>Manuella Lyrio<\/strong> placed second tonight in 4:12.37 with<strong> Viviane Eichelberger<\/strong> earning third in 4:14.47.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leonardo De Deus<\/strong> downed the meet mark in the men&#8217;s 400-meter free with a 3:50.81. \u00a0That swim cleared the 3:52.68 set by <strong>Rodrigo Castro<\/strong> back in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joao Amorim<\/strong> (3:54.79) and<strong> Luiz Lopes<\/strong> (3:55.13) placed second and third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Etiene Medeiros<\/strong>, second-ranked in the world in the women&#8217;s 50-meter back with a 27.26 from Worlds, won the event tonight in 28.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Berrino<\/strong> tied <strong>Natalia De Luccas<\/strong> for second with matching 29.03s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Orzechowski<\/strong> vaulted to seventh in the world in the men&#8217;s 50-meter back with a time of 24.71. \u00a0That swim just cleared the 24.73 clocked by<strong> Vlad Morozov<\/strong> at Worlds as the previous 7th-ranked swim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guilherme Guido<\/strong> placed second in 26.02 with <strong>Ricardo Machado<\/strong> earning third in 25.36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daynara De Paula<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 50 fly in 26.45 with<strong> Bruna Carolina Lemos<\/strong> placing second in 26.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daiene Marcal Dias<\/strong> wound up third overall in 27.12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Henrique Rodrigues<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 200-meter IM in 1:59.40 with <strong>Thiago Simon<\/strong> taking second in 2:01.60. \u00a0<strong>Lucas Salatta<\/strong> placed third in 2:01.92.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/results\/2015-jose-finkel-trophy-day-5\/international-elite\/2015\/August\/17\" target=\"_blank\">2015 Jose Finkel Trophy: Day 5 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nicholas Dos Santos unleashed a sizzling men&#8217;s 50-meter fly at the 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy meet.
