The two-time defending league champion Golden Grizzlies will look to successfully defend their titles at home as the 2016 Horizon League Swimming &amp; Diving Championships will be held at the Oakland Aquatic Center (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519412\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Feb. 24-27<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>The season begins with the annual homecoming Alumni Meet (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519413\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Sept. 19<\/span><\/span>) and Black and Gold Meet (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519414\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Sept. 25<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Oakland hosts six teams in four meets with the first coming against Green Bay (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519415\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Oct. 10<\/span><\/span>) followed by the women\u2019s team hosting Duquesne (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519416\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Nov. 6<\/span><\/span>). Both squads will compete against Wright State and UIC (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519417\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Nov. 14<\/span><\/span>) with Cleveland State and Xaiver (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519418\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Jan. 30<\/span><\/span>) rounding out the home slate before the league championships.<\/p>\n<p>The road portion of the schedule begins with the men traveling to Notre Dame for the Dennis Stark Relays (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519419\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Oct. 9<\/span><\/span>) and the women competing at the Tom Stubbs Relays in Bowling Green, Ohio (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519420\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Oct. 16<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Both teams will also travel locally for meets at Wayne State (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519421\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Oct. 30<\/span><\/span>) and Michigan State (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519422\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Jan. 23<\/span><\/span>) while the diving team travels to Ypsilanti, Mich. for the Eastern Michigan Invite (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519423\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Dec. 4-5<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Other dual team road meets include the Zippy Invite in Akron, Ohio (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519424\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Dec. 4-6<\/span><\/span>), Kenyon, Cincinnati and Olivet Nazarene (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519425\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Jan. 15-16<\/span><\/span>) concluding with the women at Bowling Green along with Youngstown State (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1178519426\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Feb. 5<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldengrizzlies.com\/sports\/c-swim\/sched\/oakl-c-swim-sched.html\" target=\"_blank\">2015-16 Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Swimming &amp; Diving Schedule<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"#GrizzVision with Pete Hovland 8\/19\/15\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Q0yvVHhUW2U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><i>The above article is a press release submitted to Swimming World.
