{"id":150910,"date":"2015-08-19T16:42:50","date_gmt":"2015-08-19T23:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=150910"},"modified":"2015-08-19T16:42:50","modified_gmt":"2015-08-19T23:42:50","slug":"leah-neale-tracks-down-800-free-meet-record-at-2015-jose-finkel-trophy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/leah-neale-tracks-down-800-free-meet-record-at-2015-jose-finkel-trophy\/","title":{"rendered":"Leah Neale Tracks Down 800 Free Meet Record at 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Leah Neale<\/strong> took down the women&#8217;s 800-meter free meet record at the 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy.<\/p>\n<p>Neale clocked a top time of 8:38.81 for the win, and broke <strong>Poliana Okimoto&#8217;s<\/strong> meet record of 8:40.05 set back in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Okimoto placed second tonight in 8:42.19 with <strong>Viviane Eichelberger<\/strong> snatching third in 8:48.08.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bruno Fratus<\/strong> blasted his way to a winning effort in the men&#8217;s 50-meter free<\/p>\n<p>Fratus clocked a time of 21.89 after leading prelims with a 21.99. \u00a0That&#8217;s half-a-second back of his fourth-ranked season best of 21.55 from Worlds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Italo Manzine Duarte<\/strong> finished second in 22.14 with<strong> Matheus Santana<\/strong> taking third in 22.22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Etiene Medeiros<\/strong> cranked out a 25.18 to win the women&#8217;s 50-meter freestyle finale.<\/p>\n<p>That swim is shy of\u00a0her South American and Brazilian record of 24.55 that ranks 10th this year out of the Pan American Games.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graciele Herrmann<\/strong> placed second in 25.25 with <strong>Lorrane Cristina<\/strong> snaring third in 25.42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joanna Maranhao<\/strong>, ranked 17th in the world with a 4:38.07 from the Pan Am Games, won the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM title in 4:43.35.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Florencia Perotti<\/strong> took second in 4:51.05 with <strong>Gabriela Albuquerque<\/strong> earning third in 4:56.12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabriel Ogawa<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM in a time of 4:23.14 with <strong>Leonardo Santos<\/strong> just behind in second with a 4:23.78.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Icaro Pereira<\/strong> wound up third overall in the event with a time of 4:24.43.<\/p>\n<p>Pinheiros&#8217; <strong>Manuella Lyrio, Joanna Maranhao, Aline Rodrigues<\/strong> and<strong> Larissa Oliveira<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 800-meter free relay in a meet-record time of 8:05.60.<\/p>\n<p>SCCP&#8217;s <strong>Joao Amorim, Fernando Dos Santos, Leonardo De Deus<\/strong> and <strong>Thiago Simon<\/strong> snared the men&#8217;s 800-meter free relay in a time of 7:20.48.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/results\/2015-jose-finkel-trophy-day-3\/international-elite\/2015\/August\/17\" target=\"_blank\">2015 Jose Finkel Trophy: Day 3 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leah Neale took down the women&#8217;s 800-meter free meet record at the 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy.
