{"id":150229,"date":"2015-08-12T07:09:11","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T14:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=150229"},"modified":"2015-08-12T07:09:11","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T14:09:11","slug":"sanderina-kruger-among-world-record-breakers-on-day-3-of-2015-fina-world-masters-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sanderina-kruger-among-world-record-breakers-on-day-3-of-2015-fina-world-masters-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanderina Kruger Among World-Record Breakers on Day 3 of 2015 FINA World Masters Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another handful of world record fell on day three of the 2015 FINA World Masters Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World Records<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Julien Baillod<\/strong> of Schwinnclub Uster Wallisellen downed the men&#8217;s 35-39 400-meter IM world record with a 4:38.50.<\/p>\n<p>That swim eclipsed the previous record of 4:42.45 set by France&#8217;s <strong>Nicolas Granger<\/strong> in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Sanderina Kruger<\/strong> of Cape Town Msc powered her way to a 2:37.63 in the women&#8217;s 65-69 200-meter free.<\/p>\n<p>That performance erased her own world record of 2:38.79 from 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s<strong> Emma Gage<\/strong> of Trafford Metro Bor Swim Club hit the wall in 27.10 in the women&#8217;s 25-29 50-meter fly.<\/p>\n<p>That swim cleared the previous world record of 27.55 by South Africa&#8217;s<strong> Elzanne Werth<\/strong> in March of this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meet Records<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Marcus Mattioli<\/strong> of Minas Tenis Clube clocked a time of 2:04.02 in the men&#8217;s 55-59 200-meter freestyle. That just missed <strong>Michael Mann&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 2:04.01 from 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Dorothy Dickey<\/strong> of the Doncaster Dolphins posted a 3:58.30 in the women&#8217;s 85-89 200-meter free for the meet record. \u00a0That time is also faster than the listed world record of 3:49.67 set by <strong>Jean Troy<\/strong> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Czech&#8217;s <strong>Petr Gregor<\/strong> of Swimmpower Prague touched in 25.63 in the men&#8217;s 40-44 50-meter fly for the meet record. \u00a0That&#8217;s still well back of <strong>Serkan Atasay&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 25.07 from 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Aleksei Manzhula<\/strong> of Neva Stars won the men&#8217;s 35-39 50-meter fly in a meet-record 25.44. \u00a0The world record is a 24.69 from<strong> Ryk Neethling<\/strong> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Andrey Denisko<\/strong> of Troyka tied the meet record in the men&#8217;s 25-29 50-meter fly with a 25.07. \u00a0<strong>Kohei Kawamoto<\/strong> holds the world record in the age division with a 23.71 from 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s <strong>Christel Schulz<\/strong> of Sg Einheit Rathenow turned in a 40.33 to win the women&#8217;s 75-79 50-meter fly. \u00a0That swim fell just short of her world record of 40.06 from March of this year.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Irina Shlemova<\/strong> of Tsunami put up a 28.04 to win the women&#8217;s 30-35 50-meter fly in a meet record time. \u00a0That&#8217;s a bit short of <strong>Martina Moravcova&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 27.48 from 2008.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/results\/2015-fina-world-masters-championships-day-3\/international-masters\/2015\/August\/10\" target=\"_blank\">2015 FINA World Masters Championships: Day 3 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another handful of world record fell on day three of the 2015 FINA World Masters Championships.
