USA Swimming announced that a trio of swimmers earned nominations in ESPN&#39;s annual ESPY Awards. Michael Phelps and Kara Lynn Joyce, along with Paralympian Jessica Long and the feature-length film &quot;Pride&quot; all received nominations.<\/p>\n<p>Phelps, who won seven gold medals and set five world records in March at the 2007 FINA World Championship, is nominated for both Best Record Breaking Performance and the Hummer Like Nothing Else Award.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce, also a member of the 2007 U.S. World Championships Team, is a nominee for Best Female College Athlete. Joyce won the 50- and 100-yard free this year at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship and became the second swimmer ever to win four straight national titles in two events. She was also named NCAA National Swimmer of the Year for the second straight season and is second all-time in career victories with 18 national titles.<\/p>\n<p>Long, the 2007 Sullivan Award winner who had 18 world-record performances in 2006, is nominated for the Best Female Athlete with a Disability award.
