{"id":150092,"date":"2015-08-11T07:52:53","date_gmt":"2015-08-11T14:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=150092"},"modified":"2015-08-11T07:52:53","modified_gmt":"2015-08-11T14:52:53","slug":"bela-banki-horvath-breaks-95-99-world-record-during-day-2-of-2015-fina-world-masters-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/bela-banki-horvath-breaks-95-99-world-record-during-day-2-of-2015-fina-world-masters-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Bela Banki Horvath Breaks 95-99 World Record During Day 2 of 2015 FINA World Masters Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A handful of world records fell on day two of the 2015 FINA World Masters Championships, including one in the 95-99 age division by\u00a0Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Bela Banki Horvath<\/strong> of Murena Szegedy Uszo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World Records<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Bela Banki Horvath<\/strong> of Murena Szegedy Uszo smashed the men&#8217;s 95-99 200-meter backstroke world record with a 5:24.20. \u00a0That swim blasted the previous mark of 5:30.07 set by Japan&#8217;s <strong>Toshiji Sato<\/strong> back in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Sanderina Kruger<\/strong> of Cape Town MSC put up a 1:09.23 in the women&#8217;s 75-79 100-meter freestyle. \u00a0That swim downed the world record of 1:09.52 set by <strong>Charlotte Davis<\/strong> in January as Kruger reclaimed the record she had owned since 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Emma Gage<\/strong> of Trafford Metro Bor Swim Club earned a world record in the women&#8217;s 25-29 100-meter free with a time of 56.96. That effort cleared the 57.26 set by <strong>Kerstin Lange<\/strong> in April.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Janette Jeffrey<\/strong> of Malvern Marlins churned her way to a world record in the women&#8217;s 65-69 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:32.66. \u00a0That swim eclipsed the previous mark of 1:33.23 set by <strong>Nobuko Yasuda<\/strong> in 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meet Records<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s <strong>Christel Schulz<\/strong> of Einheit Rathenow lowered the meet record in the women;s 75-79 200-meter back with a 3:28.49. That was faster than the listed record of 3:40.21, and just off her own world record of 3:28.42 from April.<\/p>\n<p>Schulz picked off a second meet record with a 1:20.10 in the women&#8217;s 75-79 100-meter free. That beat the previous top time of 1:20.15 and nearly lowered <strong>Yoshiko Osaki&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 1:19.71 from 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s <strong>Kerstin Pieper-Kohler<\/strong> of Blumenthaler TV downed the meet record in the women&#8217;s 55-59 200-meter back with a 2:51.06. That swim nipped the listed meet mark of 2:51.07.<\/p>\n<p>Czech&#8217;s <strong>Jan Ziegler<\/strong>\u00a0of Plavecky Veteransky Klub cleared the men&#8217;s 90-94 200-meter back meet record with a 4:24.15. \u00a0That beat the listed top time of 4:33.77.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Anette Philipsson<\/strong> of Linkopings Allmanna clocked a 1:01.51 in the women&#8217;s 50-54 100-meter free to break the listed meet record. She nearly downed<strong> Laura Val&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 1:01.13 set back in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Irina Shlemova<\/strong> of Tsunami lowered the meet record in the women&#8217;s 30-34 100-meter free with a 57.65.<\/p>\n<p>Austria&#8217;s <strong>Gerhard Wieland<\/strong> of SV Kapfenberg cranked out a meet record time of 1:05.57 in the men&#8217;s 70-74 100-meter free.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Calvin Maughan<\/strong> of Cape Town MSC turned in a 54.80 to set the meet record in the men&#8217;s 50-54 100-meter free. \u00a0That performance cleared the listed meet record of 55.13 and nearly beat Maughan&#8217;s world record of 54.36 from March.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Sergey Mukhin<\/strong> of Tsunami lowered the meet record in the men&#8217;s 30-34 100-meter free with a 51.32, edging the listed meet mark of 51.98.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Natalia Vinokurenkova<\/strong> of Troyka put up a time of 1:11.19 in the women&#8217;s 30-34 100-meter breast to set the meet record.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Anatoliy Lisitskiy<\/strong> of Aquatoria broke the meet record in the men&#8217;s 90-94 100-meter breast with a time of 2:34.59.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Shigehiro Takahashi<\/strong> of Granvalley cleared the meet record in the men&#8217;s 50-54 100-meter breast with a time of 1:09.85.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s<strong> Alexander Vladimirov<\/strong> of Poseidon clocked a 1:03.16 to lower the meet record in the men&#8217;s 25-29 100-meter breast.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a
