Hit refresh for the latest updates and swims.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100-meter Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Amanda Weir\u00a0<\/strong>held on to her top spot in the women&#8217;s 100-meter free after her 54.64-second performance in prelims at USA Nationals. The Olympic silver medalist splashed to a 26.21 first 50 split, the fastest amongst the field. She returned in 28.43, just enough to hold off second-place finisher\u00a0<strong>Allison Schmitt<\/strong>. Schmitt posted a 54.81 by splitting 26.85\/27.96.<\/p>\n<p>The 50-meter free national champion\u00a0<strong>Madison Kennedy<\/strong>\u00a0missed hitting under the 55-second mark with a 55.14.\u00a0<strong>Katie Drabot<\/strong>\u00a0took fourth in 55.19, followed closely by\u00a0<strong>Amanda Kendall<\/strong>\u00a0(55.35) and\u00a0<strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong>\u00a0(55.48).\u00a0<strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong>\u00a0(55.51) and\u00a0<strong>Faith Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0(55.54) filled out the rest of the championship final.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming in the B final will be\u00a0<strong>Kotuku Ngawati<\/strong>\u00a0(55.64),\u00a0<strong>Ali Deloof<\/strong>\u00a0(55.71),\u00a0<strong>Lisa Boyce<\/strong>\u00a0(55.79),\u00a0<strong>Caroline\u00a0<\/strong><b>McTaggart\u00a0<\/b>(55.81),\u00a0<strong>Stanzi Moseley<\/strong>\u00a0(55.88),\u00a0<strong>Veronica Burchill<\/strong>\u00a0(55.89),\u00a0<strong>Carly Mercer<\/strong>\u00a0(55.93), and<strong>\u00a0Megan Moroney<\/strong>\u00a0(55.97).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200-meter Back<\/h3>\n<p>Dynamo 16-year old\u00a0<strong>Michael Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>nabbed the top seed in the men&#8217;s 200-meter back prelim at USA Nationals. Taylor entered the meet seeded fourth, but dropped nearly a second to claim to top slot. Taylor&#8217;s 1:58.41 was comprised of fairly solid splitting:<\/p>\n<p>Taylor: 27.91\/30.13\/30.58\/29.79<\/p>\n<p><strong>Griffin Carter<\/strong>\u00a0is now slated second after his 1:58.51, followed by\u00a0<strong>Jack Conger<\/strong>\u00a0at 1:58.54. Conger, who has been vocally disappointed with his swims could pull off a win tonight from lane three.\u00a0<strong>Jack Mahoney<\/strong>\u00a0took fourth with a 1:58.90, while the favorite\u00a0<strong>Jacob Pebley<\/strong>\u00a0clinched fifth in 1:58.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Owen<\/strong>\u00a0(1:58.92),\u00a0<strong>Austin Katz<\/strong>\u00a0(1:59.35),\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Austin Surhoff<\/b>\u00a0(1:59.37) also qualified for the tonight&#8217;s top heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christopher Reid<\/strong>\u00a0(1:59.92),\u00a0<b>Tristan Sanders<\/b>\u00a0(1:59.69),\u00a0<strong>Austin Byrd<\/strong>\u00a0(1:59.77),\u00a0<strong>Hennessey Stuart<\/strong>\u00a0(1:59.80),\u00a0<strong>Luke Papendick<\/strong>\u00a0(2:00.32),\u00a0<strong>Eric Ress<\/strong>\u00a0(2:00.42),\u00a0<strong>Craig McNally\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.46), and\u00a0<b>Corey Okubo<\/b>\u00a0(2:00.50) made it into the B Final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200-meter Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Laura Sogar\u00a0<\/strong>bested the field in prelims of the women&#8217;s 200-meter breast at USA Nationals with her 2:25.16 this morning. Sogar dropped nearly a second and a half from her entry time and now holds a 1.17-second cushion over second-place finisher\u00a0<strong>Emma Schoettmer<\/strong>. Sogar swam a very well-rounded race, as her splits indicate:<\/p>\n<p>Sogar: 32.77\/36.20\/37.72\/38.47<\/p>\n<p>Schoettmer touched to a 2:26.33, while\u00a0<strong>Emil Escobedo<\/strong>\u00a0earned the third seed with a 2:27.64.\u00a0<strong>Molly Hannis<\/strong>\u00a0clocked a 2:27.94 to take fourth, while the University of Louisville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Cottrell<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed fifth in 2:28.04.\u00a0<strong>Esther Gonzalez Medina\u00a0<\/strong>trailed immediately behind Cottrell with a 2:28.09.<\/p>\n<p>The number-one seed heading into the meet,\u00a0<strong>Annie Lazor<\/strong>, fell to seventh with a 2:28.79.\u00a0<strong>Annie Zhu<\/strong>\u00a0ended up being the final qualifier for the championship final with a 2:28.79.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight&#8217;s B Final will feature\u00a0<strong>Justine Bowker<\/strong>\u00a0(2:28.86),\u00a0<strong>Miranda Tucker<\/strong>\u00a0(2:29.44),\u00a0<strong>Byanca Rodriguez<\/strong>\u00a0(2:29.59),\u00a0<strong>Haley Spencer<\/strong>\u00a0(2:29.63),\u00a0<strong>Emily Fogle<\/strong>\u00a0(2:29.98),\u00a0<strong>Madisyn Cox<\/strong>\u00a0(2:30.16),\u00a0<strong>Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>(2:30.65), and\u00a0<strong>Georgia Bohl<\/strong>\u00a0(2:30.69).<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200-meter Breast<\/h3>\n<p>After sending shock waves through the swimming world with his sub-minute 100-breast,\u00a0Emory&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Wilson<\/strong>\u00a0clocked a 2:09.84 in the 200-meter breast this morning at USA Nationals to land tonight&#8217;s top seed. Wilson displayed a mastery of the event, taking the race out in 1:02.11 and returning in 1:07.73.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson: 29.44\/32.67\/33.65\/34.08<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Licon<\/strong>\u00a0claimed the second spot with a 2:10.10, followed by\u00a0<strong>BJ Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0at 2:11.92.\u00a0Scoland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Craig Benson<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.14) and\u00a0<strong>Michael Jameison<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.17) filled the next two spots.<\/p>\n<p>A rather unfamiliar name to the 200 breaststroke ranks took sixth with a 2:12.68. That would be\u00a0<strong>Michael Phelps<\/strong>, who is coming off of three straight world-best swims in the 200-meter fly, 100-meter fly, and 200-meter IM.
