The men managed to shave 2.01 seconds off the USA&#8217;s prelims time of 3:31.06.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s relay team of\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Larkin<\/strong>\u00a0(52.41),\u00a0<strong>Jake Packard<\/strong>\u00a0(59.16),\u00a0<strong>Jayden Hadler<\/strong>\u00a0(51.91) and\u00a0<strong>Cameron McEvoy<\/strong>\u00a0(46.60) took second and the silver medal with a time of 3:30.08, dropping 1.78 seconds from their prelims time of 3:31.86. \u00a0McEvoy&#8217;s scorching split moved the Australians from fourth place to second overtaking Great Britain and France on the final leg.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze went to the relay team of\u00a0<strong>Camille Lacourt<\/strong>\u00a0(52.81),\u00a0<strong>Giacomo Perez-Dortona<\/strong>\u00a0(59.88),\u00a0<b>Mehdy Metella\u00a0<\/b>(50.39) and\u00a0<strong>Fabien Gilot<\/strong>\u00a0(47.42) from France.
